Thumb Stud Removal

Can Anyone tell me how you might be able to remove the thumb studs off a strider 880tx I am trying to replace them with some TAD GEAR DUAL TRITIUM THUMB STUDS. Can anyone help.

Vice grips, clockwise/counter clockwise.. But first, break the locktite but getting it hot, boil the blade, or use a blow dryer first.
