has anyone bead blasted the thumb stud on their sebenza? is that possible? just thinking of having my done.

It's possible. In order to bead blast it properly, you would have to remove it, but you need the thing Chris Reeve Knives uses since it is a custom "compression fitted whatchamajigger" machine.

Would be easier to just send it in and have them install a silver stud.

if you just want it to be silver/shiny, then Its pretty simple. Just use a dremel tool with the small buffing wheel. It should turn blue with just a little bit of rubbing compound you use on car bodies. It will take the blue off long before it would effect the blade finish. After a couple hundred opening/closings of the knife, the blue wears away fast (but not in the crevices of the stud).
I did the dremel trick with mine and had perfect results. It looked just like the "stock" silver studs.

don't really into the shiny silver look, more like a dull finish, like the handles.
