He posted up for sale 3 knives at a good price with one particular knife there was 4 people in line for it. I had posted 2nds on it and when I did, I got a PM from the buyer who posted "1st" saying that if I so wished he would let me snag the knife. At this point, I sent to iguyiguyiguy letting him know what happened and also noting I was in Canada, but if that was a problem I have a friend he could ship to in the states. All of a sudden the post was erased, thread was locked and everything was marked as "sold".

Fastforward an hour I see the same knives posted up on instagram where I believe he increased the price (due to all the interest) and when I confronted him on it he said "there was too many questions being asked on bladeforums" I know for a fact I asked 0 questions and just more or less wanted to know where to send the money. I believe he ended up selling them on instagram but we might see them surface on another site who knows.

I would trust this guy about as far as I could throw a rock and encourage people to stay away from him.

Edit: It looks like he took down the sale thread on instagram and blocked me after I called him out. I have screenshots of the sale though.

Thread clearly stated shipping CONUS. I do not want to ship to your "friend". Sorry you missed out and have a nice thanksgiving!

Sometimes when I want to understand someones motives, I take a quick look at their activity on BF.....

Nothing against iguyiguyiguy, but he's here to flip knives, as are many other members.
When that's your only purpose, then these kinds of things are gonna happen, right or wrong.

Nothing wrong with flipping knives, as a buyer you need to know who you're dealing with, and what to expect based on that...he broke no rules, and you can't expect him to do anything else except maximize things on his end.

This is complete BS...you sold it for more on instagram once you realized the interest. Even if you really had problems with shipping it to Canada or to my friend in the USA there was 2 people waiting in line behind me you should of sold it to.

From the above post it all makes sense, trying to make as much as possible off flipping knives.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving: I cannot confirm, nor deny, that I was involved in any of the above....

I will state, that I did exchange a couple of PM's with both of the above (iguy & Kyle), & they both came across as very nice guys to me...

BTW- how about those, Carolina Panthers!

Dude, you lost out on a knife that you wanted... obviously at impulse purchase worthy price. Unless its super rare, if you needed the knife you would own one all ready. Dont waste your time and energy following this guy on other platforms, documenting his activities etc. All that is doing is building up stress in your life. Chalk it up to people are shady, especially when their only interests in the hobby are profit based.

The knife will come back around again, or odds are, soon you will move on to something else.
Best of luck.

The seller can sell to whoever he wants, wherever he wants and for however much he wants.

Having said this; the matter would have been better handled if the seller told the OP That he stated shipping CONUS and does not want to ship to a friend.

Stated that up front and end of story........................

Happy Thanksgiving, no harm, no foul

Understandable if he said that...but keep in mind there was 2 other people in line behind me who were both in the USA who posted "I'll take it"

No deal was struck

He has the right to change his mind, location of sale and price.

It is his knife to do with as he pleases

But there was a deal. He posted first "I'll take it" gets the knife and then 4 people posted to say they will take it(not an interested/pm sent/trades? post but a firm "I'll take it") To me those were all deals, but he chose to delete the post and take it over to instagram to sell it for more money. That is unacceptable in my eyes and not the way to do business.

Ok bro. But what is done is done. Dont waste your holiday being angry and stressed. He surely isnt thinking of you at this moment.
Pick up the pieces, move on.

There are billions of other knives out there. You expressed your feelings, nothing is going to change. Start sighting in on your next knife.
It will be OK.

lol...I know. I find this more comical than anything. Unfortunately we had our thanksgiving last month in Canada so have some extra turkey for me!

This is true.
Perhaps not good taste, but the seller is not obligated or in an actual deal until money changes hands.
Just move on, and avoid the seller in the future.

Agree some are here for money others for the community you got to see who you want to deal with.

And also avoid entitled, malicious buyers.

Wow...I guess I am entitled because when I post "I'll take it" that means "I'll take it". Just so I am reading your post correctly can you confirm that you feel it is an acceptable practice to list a knife at a price and when multiple people have posted that they want it then pull the ad down and repost at a higher price on a different site?

Here we go again. Im out. :)

I have had many conversations with Kyle and he is a stand up guy. I am very hesitant to deal out of country. However, I wouldn't hesitate to do so with Kyle.

It is amazing the ethics that some people seem to operate on. I for one, am glad this was brought up to inform BF members and to give us more information as to who we may or may not want to deal with in the future.

And also avoid entitled, malicious buyers.

Also avoid trolls.
