thumbstud vs thumbdisk vs opening hole !!!!

In my honest opinion it is no matter what opening device maker or manufacturer use – the matter is how good or bad it is designed and executed. Sometimes designer rates cool look or his own preferences over ergonomics and common sense.
More – the opening device is just a small part of entire knife design and only one of a lot of things could be screwed up. It is not the best idea to choose the knife taking into consideration only one property. The best way (IMHO) is to evaluate entire knife, not it’s particular parts.
 
Exactly! That is why I carry a Sebenza and a CQD DD and not a Spyderco. Not that I don't LOVE Spydies, but none are as strong or do what I want as well as either the Benza or CQD DD.

(I want a knife with Ti framelock and BG 42 and a knife for close combat with a seatbelt cutter):)
