This is a vingage Schrade 498, it has faux stag handles, so I believe it is a 498S. This came from the 49er Series. This has been in my drawer for years and years. Was it my brothers, my fathers? Anyway, it needs to be used and need a good home. It has some light surface pitting, and I have stropped it. The edge has never touched a stone, I am sure! It took a super edge very quickly. Old American steel was some good stuff! The handle shows no signs of wear, and appears to be completely unused and everything is tight. This knife is a user, not a collector! Please put it to use!
