Thumg Stud or Thumb... Hole?

That's what I like as well.
I like all 3, but thumbstuds are my favorite.
However, they've got to be ambidextrous (as TKC noted)
and they've got to be textured well. Some thumbstuds
are so smooth that I don't feel confident that I'm going to get a
good purchase on it 'first time every time'. (One example is the
Beretta Warren Thomas Avenger which I otherwise like a lot.)
If the thumbstuds are going to be like that I'd rather have the hole,
oval, whatever.
But all else being equal I like thumbstuds the best; disc a very close second.
BTW, I've got some Junglee folders that use a hole that's sort of triangular shaped.
It's really excellent; I like it better even than the Spydie hole.
Haven't seen it on any other knife though.

I agree. I've only had one (cheap) thumb disc folder, but I really liked the method.
Never really figured thumb holes out.
