Looked at 212 times and no comments, must not be the style for the folks here. It really is a nice piece, good fit and finish and feels good in the hand as well. Thanks for looking!

The tip on that is just not my style. Most of the time people will not post if it is not something they particulary care for more out of respect than anything else(imo). I really like the wood you used and the scale of the gaurd to the whole knife but I am not a fan of that particular blade style. It is still a very nice knife and everyone has different tastes.

Thanks barrabas74....yes I realize a knife like this has specific application but I can't know what appeals here if I don't test the waters and I appreciate the kindness of folks not posting negative comments. It probably sounds like I'm searching for pats on the back but the real goal is to see if it appeals to the potential buyers and I think I have my answer. As a maker I like to switch things up to avoid humdrum knifemaking, because that will eventually show up in execution even if it does not effect quality. I am always in search of honest evaluation/comments as long as they are not mean spirited, which I am pleased to say, I have not seen here on this forum.

I don't mind the style so much. But judging from the last pic with knife in hand, the handle just looks too long for most people. At 5 1/2", that does seem overly generous. I do like that wood alot. Nothing wrong at all with trying new styles.
Personally, I welcome it, as I'm sure most here would.

Wow. Very nice. Nessmucky too. Great.

I 2nd that. Very beautiful knife, but its one for collectors and skinners, pretty specific group.

Sheath is outstanding, you do that?

Mick57....yes it does have a generous handle but not as big a the picture makes it appear as I stretched to hold it out and reach around for the shutter button, I didn't really have a natural grip on the handle. Thanks for your comments, I think it is one of those you probably would have to buy of a table so you could feel it.

panzerman...Thanks and yes that is my sheath work.

Well I think I will run this one back up and drop the price on it and see if it will find a happy home with someone with large hands who might flesh out hides:) Price is now $175.00
Thanks for looking!

I actually couldn't agree less with what seems to be the greater consensus here--I like the hell outta that knife in all ways and don't think it has limited application at all! I missed it somehow initially, and have three other orders currently going, but had I the cash free I'd be all over it.
If this one sells before I'm in-money again, I may well see if I can talk you into making a very similar one.

Thanks t1...I'll keep that in mind, in fact if you want I can put it on the shelf with your name on it, I kind of like looking at the depth of the wood anyway.

Well, let's give it a little longer to see if some cash comes your way in a more timely fashion--but if it doesn't move soon I may take you up on that. :)

Stag and Steel,

I like it and I like the long handle too but I don't care for the fact that there is that big cutout where there could be blade between where the edge ends and the guard starts.

If you are looking for suggestions I would love to see you do a drop point Bushcraft style with about a 4" blade ATS34 and Carbon fiber scales done up with a really nice scandi style grind.

By the way I still love my little Carbon Fiber Carabiner knife I got from you:thumbup: :D

Jim,
I will say that I LOVE that knife...If I had the cash I would own it in a second!!!!

GREAT work!!!

Hollow you just hate choils! :)

Thanks guys! That is one of the things that I like about knives, kind of like women....beauty is in the eye of the beholder....a howler to you, might be jaw dropper to me....or visa versa:)

That is a great skinner Jim, top notch all around. If I bought that knife right now my wife would use it on me

Well don't do that, we don't need any more Lorena Bobbets:) I shudder every time I think of that! Thanks for the kind words though. Maybe I need to find me a model like Daniel Prentice has to dispaly my knives....no wait a minute, I might have end up with a Lorena in my house then:(

I have a skinner with a blade like that made by KELGIN a few years ago. It is a very good blade design. A was stated earlier,it is a specialized knife.
Great price for that much knife. You can just look at it for that price.
