Anyone heard whether the Ti framelock Zdp-189 Leek has hit the street yet?? Sounds tasty!!:p

Wow! This is true! When it was announced? I missed it somehow.

What about ZDP-189 Spec Bump?

It looks like ZDP-189 comming to be common steel for top line knives...

I hope for Outcast out of SRS15.

Thanks, Vassili.

I was considering buying the g10 s30v leek, but now, I will wait for the zdp leek. Glad to see zdp showing up in more knives. Thank you kershaw.

Hi all,

There has been a few threads on the Ti/ZDP Leek, but to fill you in, production is going smooth, we lasered some ZDP and Ti last week. I would say we should start putting a few together in the next 7-10 days. So...we are getting close, and are right on schedule. This month for sure.

What about ZDP-189 Spec Bump?
Nothing happening at this time Vassili, sorry.

I hope for Outcast out of SRS15.
This one either.

This is some absurdly good customer interaction and production speed going on here. I'm very impressed.

Thanks J, my wife is giving me the evil eye, but she will get over it, she always does.

and production speed
Sometimes production goes smoother than other times. We could still have a hang up, but it looks great today. That laser cutter we have makes up some serious time.

Will you have any other models with ZDP-189?
Do you consider SRS15 for some knife in the future?

BTW - I really like Cyclone will post some pics tommorow - very good knife!

Thanks, Vassili.

We still have quite a bit of ZDP to play with, and are deciding on the next project to use it on. It will probably be a knife for the late fall.

For you Vassili, I will check into it.

For being the first dual action AO, it has flown under the radar thus far. Nice Ken O pattern, Sandvik 13C26, $79.95-$89.95 MSRP, USA made. Glad you like it Vassili.

I like it a lot! On my opinion this is affordable version of ZT. From other hand it looks like Avalanche on steroids, with flipper and guard. I already made some pictures - will upload them tommorow. May be you consider Cyclon to made with ZDP-189 and titanium next?

It is also nice that you made this sweadish beauty - Sandvic steel available, which may very well be one of the best in this class - at least Mike Steart choosed it as stainless solution for all his working knives in Bark River (as well as it was first choose for KaBar NextGeneration also).

This swithching SpeedSafe - confuse me first. I thought that something is wrong, until found this little switch on the back - Ken continue to invent things. It was nice surprize, because I did not pay attention to this feature before.

Thanks, Vassili.

Are you the first manufacturer in US who heat treat ZDP-189 here?
What hardness it will be? I heart 65HRC is the best.

Thanks, Vassili.

The awesome customer interaction and speed Kershaw (notably Thomas) has displayed with the ZDP-189 Leek is a great example of why Kershaw is so beloved as of late, and why they are moving up in the production knife world

Being one of the larger manufacturers, it was important to us that we start producing knives that could potentially fit into everyone's pocket. The high end market was a little ignored by us, and so we have made an effort to try a balance and diversify our current selection. Projects like the Ti/ZDP Leeks, S30V Leeks, Offsets, Spec Bumps, are just the beginning of a series of higher end knives that we have planned. Zero Tolerance was also a major undertaking that you all will hopefully be able to appreciate. Thanks for the support.

How about a non-assisted opener? I imagine I'm not the only one here who's a fan of Kershaw but is hesitant to carry an AO for potential legal-grey-area reasons in my jurisdiction.

Either way, it's great to see Kershaw on the forefront of bringing this "new" steel to the general market. Thanks!

A.

I must admit, that this one piques my interest, as I LOVE titanium and ZDP. Is there a place to pre-order this one? I would also like to see it in a Non-AO version myself.
