Ti inlay Mnandi, take 2 (jigged Ti with bolster).

Thank you all kindly for the nice words. :) I'm glad I went for this rather than the vines and leaves I very nearly engraved....

The scales can be taken off the knife at any time, doing a mod like that with them on the knife would be asking for something to go wrong.

The pictures show both sides. There is a Ti inlay on the lock and off side. :)

Beautiful!! How did I not notice that? Hahaha

Very nice work. Look OEM. So...did you use two sided tape or key hole/screws from within for captivation?

I don't normally like small knives. My only exception and my favorite, among my large folders - is my William Henry GenTec. My gizmo knife, built like a watch, push button lock and all. Although packaged tiny/thin as a whole, but can feel the "haft" with its titanium handles. Itching to skeleton its titanium handle from within, to make it an weightless scalpel. :)

Sweety. Congrats Haze.

It would be fantastic if I could change scales on my Mnandi like I change straps on my watches.

Thanks again to all for the nice words. :)

The inlays are held in with a combination of friction and the pivot. The pivot hole in the scale is tapered enough so that the screw pulls the inlay down onto the frame as it's tightened. There is no movement in the inlay and to get them out you have to actually "pop" them off. :)

Yea, I'm not far off there now. :D

Nice workmanship on the "Fit" department and taking advantage of the taper for final captivation. Great!! :)

That is the best mnandi ever. Hands down. Looks like the future of Mnandis. Hopefully CRK takes a long look at this sort of thing. Right on Haze!

Well done! Adding a personal creative touch to a well established piece of craftsmanship takes especially acute attention to detail, and, as noted, respect for the original "author". Hats off to you!

I commented on this beautiful Mnandi when the inlays were still smooth and stated how gorgeous I thought that it was then. I know that I've also complimented other items like your mini umnum key organizer and umnum take down tools but as nice as all of that was you've completely outdone yourself this time and made the ( non mammoth/damascus) Mnandi that all others will be judged by!
VERY WELL DONE SIR, VERY WELL DONE.

Put me on the long list of people who'll gladly take that beauty off of your hands should the day ever come that you get bored and want to start another one.

Thank you for sharing.

Well, with a post like that you just made you way far up the list. :p

Thanks again for all the nice words, I have been enjoying this one rather a lot over the last week. :)

Excellent!
Now who do I have left ahead of me, the "accidents" need to start happening quickly ;D
