I noticed Ironstone carries a Spyderco titanium kitchen knife. I'm pretty sure that it is a Ironstone exclusive. What can you tell us about it, I didn't see it in the catalogue?

The knife you saw was probably made by Solo, which is distributed here in the US by Spyderco. I've seen this in one of Ironstone's earlier catalogs - is this the one with a dark grey looking blade?

That's the one, chalk that up to it being far to early in the morning. I saw that it looked like a Spyderco and was listed amoung other Spyderco's, and thought it was. I guess I'll repost this in the main forum. You can close this if you want.

Aaron - The "Solo" designs and name are owned by Spyderco. The original designs were produced and distributed through Spyderco. Later, the "Solo" name was provided to Ironstone as an exclusive, to reduce Spyderco's SKUs..

At this time, Ironstone is undergoing many changes and will probably be acquired by Spyderco this summer. It will probably become a Spyderco Factory Outlet store.

The "Solo" titanium kitchen knife was designed by Spyderco. It is an intersting piece. Has a coating on the blade that "shows bacteria" when the blade is not clean. it's very light. Must be sharpened more often, but sharpens well on the Sharpmaker. Will not rust, will not create "brown" marks when slicing apples or potatoes. Is currently being "closed out" by Ironstone and can be purchased for about $32 (original retail $53.95) with free shipping. We probably won't make them again for some time.
