Cool! I received a notice that a few of the new Ti-Locks were available, so I quickly placed my order. I'm not sure how well I'm going to like the locking mechanism, but I haven't been disappointed by anything from either G&G Hawk or CR yet! :D

EDIT: Pictures added...

OK here are some pictures and a video clip for your entertainment. ;)
The Ti-Lock is built to the typical Chris Reeve level of perfection. No slop, no burrs, no flaws anywhere. Comparison knives are a small Sebenza and a 3" XM-18.

Sure, no problem. I'll do just that provided someone else doesn't do it first. :)

Amen to that - I'm in the same camp.

Only problem I see - if the reviews from our brethern come back positive - is getting our hands on one.

Edit - I must say that the prototype pics with the polished ti scales were much more attractive that the bead blasted ones that are being advertised now that they are released. I wonder why the change? The bead blasted scales draws a lot of attention to the pieces at the front or pivot side of the scales - I assume this is part of the locking system? These aren't easy to see in the prototype pics.

I see there in stock and going for $475 at a certain big online knife supplier.
Hope some reviews pop up on youtube soon.

I have just ordered one too.
Can't wait to try it, hope I made a right choice as I'm not in US so no chance to hold before purchasing.

Not much bigger then the Small Sebenza, horrible clip, and a rather eclectic locking mechanism. I like it, but can't see myself owning one in the near future.

It does look like the clip should be switchable with a standard clip, can you let us know if it is?

hmm, it looks slightly different than the version i handled back in october. i remember it being easy to open and close (just took a little practice.) its interesting to say the least :D

Yes, the clip attachment is identical to the Sebenza. The physical dimensions are identical to the small Sebenza. Blade shape is different and the scales have the notch at the rear, but length, width and thickness are all identical.

I dunno. That knife looks like the answer to an unasked question. It looks cool, and I'm sure it's well made, but my suspicion is that all kinds of gunk would get caught up in the lock up there on top of the blade. And it doesn't look particularly easy to open or close. I do love the clip though!

The lock design is simple, totally open, and visible. The knife should be easy to clean in the field since the locking area is not enclosed thus not making any dirt or debris hidden and hard to get at.

The lock is similar in function to the Kershaw thumb stud lock but using a different angle of lock engagement. It more simple with less parts. It also hits me as a new spin of the AG Russell one hand knife in reverse using a tubular shaped locking lug (thumb studs) as opposed to the standard 90 deg angle lock back cut outs.

The use of the stop pin in the ti lock should aid in preventing premature wear of the lock from mere opening which is a drawback of the standard lock back due to the lock bar also acting as a blade stop.

That spring lock also looks like a separate part that can be easily replaced. If that lock is not super strong it certainly is at the very least strong enough in my opinion.

The only way I can see this failing is if you open it while it is totally immersed in thick mud. That is very unlikely and would be remedied by a quick cleaning which from the looks of it can probably be done with your finger tips if not any twig, key, etc.. The slot can facilitate debris wedging in and interfering with the lock but due to the open design anyone with half of their eye site intact can quickly remedy that.

I looks easy enough to open one handed but closing it one handed will probably take a little practice. Since I prefer my knives to open easily with one hand and unlock less easily for safety this does not bother me. For those that like to sacrifice lock safety to facilitate effortless one hand closing using light tension locks that are disengaged very easily, well maybe with practice this can work for you, or maybe not.

Less moving parts. Simple and easy to maintain. Repair should be practical if needed. This looks like one very fine knife.

I do wonder if that lock can get jammed up and disengage or possibly bend while cutting deeply into lets say cardboard boxes or thick leather. Maybe it is wise to keep your thumb over the lock when doing these things. I guess the jury is still out on this one.

Thanks for the crystal clear pics and video!

Not sure I dig the lock, but will definitely keep my eyes open and alert for further reviews!

These are the best photos that I have seen of the Ti-Lock!! They make me want one!:thumbup:

I like it!

Fantastic pictures, thanks for sharing them with us.

Great looking clip! Something different and unusual.. not just your standard ho-hum clip. I like it.......
Interesting looking lock, I like the engineering in it. Another plus.
Nice size knife also...... :)

Excellent looking knife. Probably not something I personally would choose for hard use.. but so what. I have plenty of hard use knives and there are plenty out there I don't have. And, I don't really use all the CRK's I have anyway... just a select couple.

To my way of thinking this will make a nice dress, office, or Sunday go to meeting knife.

Congrats on another winner CRK. ... ;)

I got to check one out at Plaza Cutlery and I wasn't impressed at all. I'm a big fan of CRK's knives, but there wasn't anything I liked about the Ti-Lock. The whole knife was a bit odd and I really hate the clip. I'm glad I got to see it in person first.
