Ti-Lock - FIrst Look

No offense to anyone but this design makes me wonder how it made it all the way to market without dying off beforehand.

Its interesting to see Chris Reeve go in a different direction and bring new
ideas and innovations to the knife world. However I do not think this knife
design will stand the test of time much like the sebbie and umnum do.

Hey Vege-Taco. When did you get that Startac Sebenza? Are those still
available. Thats the first startac sebbie Ive seen. If you ever want to sell
that or trade for some other CRK stuff let me know. :)

It's commendable that they are brave enough to step out of the box and try out a radical new design. I'll give them respect for that. But I don't think I would like that knife even if someone gave it to me. I don't like anything about it, from form to function.

But it might be someone else's grail knife. To each his own...

Thanks for the pics & video.

This one's not for me though.

Don't like the clip or the locking mech.
The size is about the only thing I like about it.

Well, it's certainly something new. Now whether I'll like it or not is a whole different story. I don't think I can justify buying a $450+ knife to test out a new locking mechanism I'm not familiar with. I'll see if I can get my hands on one to test it out.

From what I can see, knife manipulation might be kind of difficult. I wonder why the thumb studs were left out? It wouldn't get in the way, right?

Well, I like it more after seeing these pics(thanks BTW), but I'm still unsure what to think. I like the overall size with what appears to be a bit more blade length and do like the handle. The clip is something that could be swapped out(I assume), so it could be a non-issue if it turned out I didn't like it in person. The lock and price are what would have me thinking of passing it over for any of the other folder offerings from CRK.
More food for thought;)

I won't discount it until I hold it. CRK has earned that much respect from me due to his previous work. However I'll be blunt when I saw the finished product, my initial impressions leave me confused. It looks a little awkward, and somewhat complicated in its design.

We'll see, but I'm not sold just yet.

There's nothing complex or complicated about the design. Precise, yes, but not complex. Notice the little "blip" on the blade just aft of the lock studs. This acts as the blade stop as it hits against the stop pin. So, overall, the design is quite sturdy, probably just as sturdy as any other locking mechanism.

  to Vege-Taco for his review, pics, and vid.

Several cool features with the Ti-Lock, but still on the fence about it.

At this point, inventing new locking systems for folders is becoming harder and harder. It is innovative but I feel like it is a little clumsy. I am happy to see it made, althought I probably won't be getting one.
