Ti-lock lock strength - the little field test

Hi all
Since few weeks I carry a Ti-lock as my EDC. I read a lot about the strength of the lock and decided to test it. Beeing a hunter I took the Ti-lock for fielddressing a deer today. A fine and sharp blade and a rock solid lock. I donˋt think this knife will let me down.

Greetings from the Swiss alps!

Always thought that was the case! Glad to hear it served you well! Slick little knife!

I've been carrying mine steadily for more than a week and really love it. I never think twice about the lock's integrity.

Couldn't agree more. A truly awesome EDC, and a great lock design. I love that the lack of a traditional frame / liner lock allows for such incredible blade-to-handle ratio, too.

I still have my eyes on a Ti-lock hopefully by Christmas I will have one. Maybe a present for myself!

Did you take any pictures?

Beautiful! Mine looks the same, but I'd never been able to get those pics. How'd you polish your clip? I used very fine sand paper on mine, and I almost got it to look like the knife's finish.

That's actually a Sebenza clip that I sanded and stonewashed. I didn't care much for the stock Hawk clip.

Awesome. I put the sebenza clip on mine and have the G&G Hawk clip on my small insingo for the time being. Great job on the stonewash!

Thanks! It was shockingly easy. I wrote a post about it on this forum a while back.

That knife s appearance is an acquired taste for admirers! IMO. ;)

I wasn't sure I would love it. Bought it new planning to resell if I didn't like it, but it exceeded all of my expectations. The blade shape is incredible, and the ergonomics are great. It's a really big blade in a small package. The action is unique yet well done. I really don't have any complaints about it (other than the stock clip).

For what it's worth, the Ti-Lock is the only CRK I've ever gotten a compliment on. Not that it matters, but non-knife people love this knife. They're often fascinated rather than intimidated.

Both posts are great. Now we have to try achieving the same with an insert. I put both a polished and bead blasted insert on it just to see how it felt. I loved it without any clip as well, but the insert definitely needs to be stonewashed.

How do you guys polish the bronze/gold part of the thumb stud? What do you use?

I didn't do anything to the brass on mine. If it looks different you can chalk it up to my poor photography skills.

Also I don't have field pics, but while using it to cut cardboard today I noticed it went through better than my small insingo.

With a physical sciences education, I was very interested in the unusual design of the TiLock before I bought it.

I was just not prepared for how incredible it feels in my hand, starting from the first time I picked it up. It is hard to describe, but something about the combination of the TiLock's balance, strength, and light weight makes it uniquely delightful to handle and use. I really don't think it's just my bias in favor of this knife.
