Ti-Lock Prototype is IDAHO MADE! Link to Pics. What do you Think?

Neil- do you want to sell yours? Just kidding. "Cutting edge" ideas on this one. I like it, but probably not enough to purchase one. Got to handle one at Blade, and again, cool knife, but not for me.

I think the knife is terrific- quality you wound expect from CRK and a very cool and different item to their normal fare.

Whilst I'm put off by the Idaho Made stamp, this is why I'm interested in this knife. I think a lot of us see the cutouts in the handle and the odd looking clip and are expecting their "gimmicky" appearence to somehow cheapen the knife. However, whilst such "gimmicks" may equate to cheaply produced crap from a lot of other makers, I think Chris will produce something special here. I mean there aren't many that come close to CRK in the fit and finish department.

Gah, I just want to hold and play with one already. Roll on January!

That is a special looking knife for sure & I don't mind the location of the MII stamp on this one.

The clip leaves a little to be desired IMO

I was wondering when we would see more of these when the pictures came out of this design.

A couple of questions for anyone who might know the answer

What material is the blue anno'ed "lock bar" made of ? and how is it set into the blade?

Given that the knife is called the "Ti-lock" one would imagine that it's titanium :p The lock bar will do doubt be press fitted to the blade and given how the lock works that will be just fine and dandy. :)

To be honest the clip bugs me more then the stamp.

The knife also feels very "busy" to me. With the lock, the skeleton handles, the clip. :(

If it came with the traditional CRK clip and solid handles I would definitely pick one up.

Same here.

I was going to buy one. However after seeing the MII stamp, I will not bother. I will cast a negative vote with my wallet.

The stamp makes all CRK knives look cheap to me.

I guess this is a cultural thing on CRK's part, they seem to like it and we don't.
It's their product, they can do whatever they want. It seems strange to alienate your clientele though.

Are all CRKs getting that stamp now?
I do not care for it,IMO it would be ok if done small in an out of the way place.

It would seem so, I've not seen it on any fixed blades or Mnandis yet but it's on the 21's, the Umnumzaans and will be on the new Ti-lock. I'm not impressed by it at all but I already have enough CRKs to last me a good while. :)

Maybe I just do not understand this knife. Higher price, weaker lock, more complex lock and more moving parts than an Umnumzaan or Sebenza.

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for a Sebenza or Umnumzaan with a 3.25 inch blade. This knife just does not "cut" it for me.

Wow! Went to see Dan at Plaza Cutlery and had a chance to handle this knife. Very nice, I like it a lot! Stamp or no stamp I want one. Much better in person than I thought it would be. A true medium size Sebenza. Protoype so it would be a safe queen. Some day I will kick myself for not buying it! Lock felt very sturdy to me. Good job Chris!

Yes it's for sale! Price marked up compared to what the regular ones will be. Give Dan a call!:cool:;):D

The Idaho stamp doesn't bother me. Did anyone see how many of them you get for that evil-bay price? Six? Ten?

I doubt I'll get one... my StarTac 'zaan will likely be my CRK collection for a while. Interesting knife, though.

Merry Christmas!

Good luck 556. If I had any brains at all I would be there today when they open and snag that baby! Like I said some day I will look back and kick myself. Like I said nice knife and a great investment opportunity but certainly not EDC material.:cool: I'm really stupid for giving a heads up on this one.

Honestly I could care less what it says on it. I'm interested I'n the action and lock up, Chris can build a knife no one can deny that :) As soon as they are available I'm going to buy one and try it out.

Thanks for the info Brad
