Ti Mil mini rant

hey guys just a little update. I spent some time working on my Ti mil and the lockup is like vault now.. It really is a great knife once I worked out the odd quirks.

Mine's smoothing out a tad now that the bead-blast finish is wearing smooth on the area where the "scrape" occurs.
I think it will always be rougher than a CRK or Strider, but it ain't really that bad.:)

Welp decided I keep her and applied a lil No. 2 pencil to some strategic spots on bar and tang and viola! Much nicer. Permanent fix? Who knows it may wear in and be good or a lil more pencil action, which takes no time so its good.

Beadblasting makes the already gall-prone titanium even "stickier."

Once the moving surfaces smooth out to a fine polish after repeated opening/closing, the knife should open with little-to-no grinding. Add some MilTec or equivalent and you should be good to go.

This incentivizes using the knife: the longer you use it, the better it becomes.

Mine locks up perfectly. there is a tiny bit of "grittiness" where the lock bar rubs against the blade, after the ball detent leaves the blade and the blade is then contacted by the lock bar surface. Over time, I'm guessing the Ti. lock bar will smooth out where it meets the blade surface, making it more smooth. This grittiness is only noticeable when the knife is opened very slowly, and doesn't effect the knife's usefulness.

This isn't a defect.

Overall, it's a fantastic knife, and I wouldn't allow a few negative (internet) postings sway anyone from it.
