Wow, this is a beauty, I have one or two (well, 14...) Northfield Stags, but this is my first Tidioute and first Ebony GEC, and I have to say the fit and finish are top notch. This is the finest non-custom knife I have bought in QUITE some time, right up there with the Bose Tribal Spear, but considerably less money. Definitely not a nail breaker, no gaps to be seen anywhere, and a beautifully polished shield and bolsters. The edge, while better than some of my past GEC's, still needs a touch up to be pocket worthy. Check it out.

Thanks, I'm eagerly awaiting the true Whittler from GEC, that should really be a home run. THIS is the frame for it.

Really like this pattern a lot. Reminds me a little of an '83 with two blades.

Thanks to you and Keith for these pics. You guys show those knives well.

Thanks Gus! This ebony that jnevill is showing is gorgeous! I had initially pre-ordered this model in ebony, but changed my mind just prior to shipment and got the smooth ivory bone instead. I'm loving that too! If I didn't have so darn many other knives on my radar screen at the moment I'd turn right around and get the ebony in this pattern. I may not be much of a gentleman, but I'm sure enjoying this new gents knife! ;)

Super slick pocket knife
My knife budget is busted for another two weeks -but if there are any left, this ebony will be mine.
Thanks for sharing pics, jnevill

I really like this pattern. Is the ebony really black, or is it more of a dark brown like a lot of their recent offerings?

I like that one a lot!

It looks like it could almost be the little brother of the 2010 forum knife.

It's pretty dark, but in the direct sunlight you can see shades of dark chocolate. One very slight brown streak on the pile side, you have to have direct sunlight to even see. I sharpened it up last night and it took a super fine edge, I didn't even have to oil the joints to get it to walk and talk smooth, this one really is the quality standard.

*sighs* yet another ebony knife to drool over... I need to contact my fave retailer and ask him to hide one for me, till I get money gathered to get one of these. Looks very nice, very, very nice indeed.

I have one GEC and quite a few Northfields, this is my first Tidioute, are all Tidioutes this level of fit and finish? Have I been missing out this whole time? For some reason I thought the Northfields were the top shelf stuff and the others were more... edc-ish.
