Tidioute Ez-Open GIVEAWAY WINNER: JTR357

Ok I never claimed to be neat and organized! My wife cringes everytime she enters my room ....

Overflow that I haven't relegated to any particular spot (except my
K. Hampton desk knife which is amazingly enough, on my desk):

Thanks for the contest!

Railsplitter,

I am in. Thanks for a great opportunity, and your many informative posts on BF.

I have again learned from BF comments and Photos.

Like black mamba, I do like to have easy access to see them and handle them. They are now in Plano Tackle Boxes, Spyderco Spyderpacs, tables and drawers in my house, drawers in my office, spread out on a single bed in the guest room, Kershaw bags, Sack-Up rolls and in my briefcase and pockets.

Someday, I hope to get as organized as Seals.

I do like to see them. Many of the presentation suggestions and drawer cabinet suggestions were helpful. Space is always a problem.

Thanks to all for the great pics.

That is a nice #25 Rick but I am not in. I already have 5 25s so I'll give someone else a chance for one.

I have one of those wood presentation box with the plexiglass lid like Jeff. I took out the foam because I'm not going to hang it up and with the number of knifes in there, its a bit of a chore to close it. I go into it very often :D

I'm thinking of getting a multi-drawer cabinet though as I've run out of room in the knife display case. I have some knives in an old wooden chess box, a few drawers, and I have a handful next to my computer.

I'm in....

I store mine in various locations. Either on my rather large computer desk shelves, or in a couple of drawers in my office. Try to keep original boxes, or packaging.

Not an entry as don't qualify, and I've 2 of those 25s, damn fine knives and a very fine giveaway (limbering up for another giveaway of my own soon:D)

Got some of those padded cases/pouch which are very good for safe storage but a bit tricky to get the knives out of!

An old printer's type chest has some occupants, can't see em though and another small mahoghany chest with 4 drawers houses more suspects:D I'm very attached to this chest as it was my Gran's and has been through the wars literally, it has a corner missing as a result of an air-raid:eek:

The desk in my writing-room has the laptop, ornaments and around 25 knives on a cloth next to me as I write. Well, you need 'em to hand:thumbup:

Plano Tackle boxes, little metal boxes, rolls, whatever I can fit 'em in.

Oh yea and the original boxes when I have 'em.

Thanks for the giveaway, sure is a nice knife, I've never had one from them yet, (fingers crossed).

I'd love a knife like that so will enter, thanks! Happy to pay postage here if I get it.

I use a couple of these:

Plus a big old tool box for bigger knifes.

Thanks for this chance!

I don't have that many knives and they are all users. I have two small pre-Castro Havana cigar boxes I keep them in in my dresser.

Thanks for the opportunity. I store all my users in a hard plastic gun case, the foam keeps them from getting banged around. The ones that are NIB are stored in their boxes in a desk drawer. As soon as I get more than one Yellowhorse Case or Buck, or maybe a mammoth ivory handle, I would like to make a shadow box display.

It's neat to see all these different storage setups.
Mine are mostly kept in one of two locations.
Slipjoints go in a cigar box, folded into a piece of cloth to pad them a little.
Fixed blades and larger folders (the ones that are less prone to scratches and dings) are generally kept loose in a drawer, in my night-table.
Other random assorted knives are scattered around the house; coffee table, bowl on the bureau, kitchen drawer, workbench, etc. (I don't have any kids yet, so I can get away with being pretty lax...)
In the spirit of things, I'll snap a couple photos when I get home this evening and edit my post to include them.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I don't display mine, so I don't have any sort of display setup. Apart from several in a dresser drawer for EDC, I store them by wrapping each up in a soft paper towel that's got a little tuf-glide or militec1 on it and sealing in a gallon freezer bag (about 10 or so per bag) -- these bags go into various boxes I have around. The few NIB ones I will usually store in their box -- but most of mine are antiques, so no boxes to worry about. Works great for storage and protection -- not so great for finding a specific knife. Thanks for the chance!

Mine are in a small "treasure box" that I got from my mom for Christmas several years ago. It's made of dark-stained wood, has a felt lined interior, and is burned on the outside and has some stamped leather trim. It's not the highest quality, but it looks purty! Plus, coming from my mom, it has great value.

That box sits in a larger clear "Tupperware" box with sheaths, boxes, and other loose non-traditional knives at the top of my closet, where my little ones can't reach.

Thanks for the cool opportunity! Very generous of you!

Thanks for the opportunity!

I have a three stage system. First stage is my collection of older carbon folders that live in large fruitcake tin. This has all the older ones I rarely carry. They are lightly oiled, and I have a wad of cotton in the box that has been sprayed heavily with WD40. It doesn't get on the knives, but it keeps the water out quite well.

Second stage is the knives I EDC. These are in my top dresser drawer in a box. I pick out the one I fancy the day I want to carry it.

Third is the top of the dresser. When the knives get dull, they rest here in plain sight to remind me they need a touch up.

So far, no safe queens for me!

Robert

Non users or very rarely used:
I store my slipjoints in a Hickory Hill knife roll. I have the most slipjoints of any style of knife although I rarely carry one these days.

The few Spyderco's I have left are in a Spyderco carrying case.

A few safe queen custom folders like my two Anso/Pirela Edrocks are in individual padded pouches on a shelf in my gun safe.

My fixed blades are just stacked on a shelf in my gun safe.

Now for my users:
My user pocket knives (Hinderer XM-18 3.5", Hinderer XM-18 3", Spyderco ZDP-189 Endura, and Spyderco Dragonfly) sit on some rabbit fur on top of my dresser.

My most used fixed blade (Scrap Yard Dogfather LE) can be found laying somewhere around the house, in the garage, or in the toolbox of the truck.....or laying in the yard/garden/woods when I temporarily leave it behind. :D

Thanks for the chance!

Plano tackle boxes, knife rolls, or my sock drawer (for my EDC rotation). Can't fit too many socks anymore.

first: thank you for the change! I don't have any EZ opener.

I mostly keep my knives on on two draw box. One for fixed blade and modern folders. One for traditional lockbacks and slippies. All in well neat organized mess. My EDC rotation is on small plastic box with cloth padding front of my computer's display.

Im in and Thanks
Like others I need to get organised.Knifes usually kept in a pelican case an old glass display case that my uncle welded for me to display my bird egg collection when in grade school and stuffed in the wifes bureau a drawer of which I took over for my stuff

Thanks for the opportunity, never handled a Tidioute before. In fact I just subscribed as a member due to all the great info available here, so I'm looking forward to learning more about great knives and tools.

As for storage, I am embarrassed to say that I have most of mine "stored" in various places around the house: A few on the dresser, a few on the desk in the study, a couple in the car, one or two on the coffee table... you get the idea. I try to rotate my EDC regularly, so it's easy to just grab whatever I find nearby before walking out the door.

I keep mine in a knife roll like this:

I don't own a Tidioute.Thanks for the chance!

Thanks for this awesome opportunity! I don't treat my knives as well as others and just put them on a cheap desk valet in my bedroom. There's too many knives in there and they're piled on top of each other.
