Tiger Killer Knife for 10/2

I might be saving you all? Or you'll all curse me, we'll see. But,

EMS.

I was hesitant at first because I thought it was double edged, but after Yangdu's clarification and further inspection on the pictures, it it not, and I was sure it had my name on it. Like nothing else in my collection, and will definitely be the tipping point for a display, if I get the knife :b

Thank God! I owe you big time. When you send me my stuff back, include this one, so I can have a looksee, of course, I may need to "inspect" it for awhile, but you'll get it back.......eventually :).

...My current can't live without is a Farmcata which I believe you are interested in as well. Did Auntie get back to you with any info?

The Farmcata is a less-common cousin to the Farm Knife, and both of these models used to be made by Tirtha (who left HI last year, I think). Perhaps another kami will bring back these models.

Here's the Farm Knife:

I wouldnt want to chop anything tougher than green wood with how fine the edge is, but dont get me wrong, the thing will delimb a tree with ease

I think I'm more partial to the Farm Knife than the Farmcata myself. But either one will do when the opportunity comes along.

Farmcata does it for me. Something about that handle shape is just awesome to me.

I did hear back from Auntie, and the news was not great. I don't wanna overstep my bounds, but I do believe you all should know whats going on in Nepal. Apologies if this is not new information.

I emailed asking about how my custom Kitchen Knife is going, as well as thanking her for my recent order and inquiring about the Farmcata. This was her response:

"Glad to hear you like our Knives.
Regarding the kitchen Knife and Farmcata right now we are facing huge political problem with India and India quit supplying the gas and other products to Nepal which has cause much hardship on all business in Nepal.
For now people do not have gas supply for the car and propane for cooking and everyone in Nepal is facing a difficult time.
Beside this couple of our best kamis are having health problem and we can not make special order items until things get better in Nepal and with shop and Kamis"
-Yangdu

I do believe more smoke and prayers are in order, I just wish there was more we could do to help. Unfortunately, since this is political in nature, even our donations will not be of much assistance.

Sad news, yes indeedy. Definitely more smoke and prayers needed....and probably more than just that, too.

SG, thanks for the information. A Google search unveils how really unpleasant things are in Nepal at the moment. Very sad.

Bittersweet news about the blade; someone stealth-sharked this one. It was long gone. BUT she said there's another. I really really like this one and she said the other is a bit different. I hesitantly asked for a description or pic, since I know she's busy. I'll probably take it, but for once I just feel like I need to see first.

Best of luck my friend! I find nothing wrong with your inquiry. I only hope it fills your want like the first one, perhaps even better. I find often, it works out that way.

She is busy mostly but it is her business to make you happy and she will do it at any expense. Id ask for a pic myself. Much easier than returning it and having to pay postage on each end all over again. Ultimately she wants you happy with your purchase. Just my thoughts.

I totally agree, auntie will gladly send you a pic, for your piece of mind. If your happy, that's a sale for HI, and one very happy customer.

Auntie is out of town for the weekend so expect a response early next week I reckon.

Sad about the Tiger, I'm still suffering remorse. Guess I should clarify, sad for me, sad for you, good for whoever got it.

Thanks guys. Good to see my thought process is similar to y'alls. I'm in no rush. As we all say, the knife will find it's own home. Perhaps the other one will decide mine is a good home :) Until then, I shall wait patiently and hope Auntie is enjoying her weekend!
