Tiger or Combat Systems Fighter?

Tiger's are also a single detent system. The Combat System Fighter is a double detent. Tiger is a little shorter of a cutting edge but the handle is very secure on pulling cuts. The Roadhouse style handle is just not for me, same for the 15 too.

Take a good look at your OD Tiger Ray, mine is double detent. My other two (SF & BT) were single.

More versatile grip, much more pocketable. I've always loved the "Roadhouse grip", and every other "2+2" grip Emerson has ever made.

Hope nobody minds if I bump this, but after you have carryied/used Tigers, CSF for a while, and now maybe add Spectrum to the mix, how is everyone's preferences holding up?

I am almost split. The Tiger is to me more "Emerson", a modern day iconic design. The CSF is still more versatile, but I'm not sure I don't prefer the Roadhouse blade on that grip. I may be giving my Tiger a bit more love due to mine being an OD and having SF bling not to mention a killer custom backspacer from a great friend.

dogrunner, I like the Tiger best followed by the Spectrum. CSF just doesn't do it for me, grip and blade angle.

I have been staring at the Spectrum lately, but that led me back to the tiger and CSF. Both look great but I haven't handled either. Handles with bumps in them (either Tiger or CSF) often don't line up well for me, but you never know till you try it on. I like the CQ8 blade a lot though. And the Spectrum handle. So maybe someday those will come together ;). Spectrum blade (straight bowie without the recurve of the patriot) is nice too so maybe go in that direction... Amazing how much variation Emerson can get out of a few handles and a variety of blades. Hmmm, need to handle the Tiger and CSF though...

Your right. OD is a double but my SF & BT are single like yours.

I've posted a pic below of my Tiger in an angled position -- it is "softly locked" in this position. I'm assuming it is a detent causing this? I have to overcome "something" (the detent?) at this angle if I desire to open or close the blade.

I don't have this experience with my other Emersons. Is this a second detent?

Probably just fell off the detent bearing onto the Ti lockbar. My guess is yours is a single detent. Look at the non-lockbar liner to see if there is a little "tab" near the pivot.
