Will the Tiger Shark ever enjoy a handle with white spacers, like the SOG Tech Bowie, or a satin finish blade?
It is a bold looking knife, with not too long a blade for most conventional days. It would look good, dressed up a bit more. Eh?
Thanks, Bob

I would be interested in one that didn't have the serated edge. SOG ever make one like that?

It has the Non serrated Carbon Steel blade with satin finish and the HD black leather sheath. Thay should return to it. I think Serrated blades are past their fad time and people are realizing they are not as useful as they were touted to be and they are difficult to maintain. Plain edges are back in style as they should be.

that would be great for those "you call that a knife , this is a knife " moments

there is only one possible solution: Add to the Collection !!

the Carbon Steel Tigershark is fantastic !! My most-favorite large-size camp/field knife.

Cheers,

Carl

I was lucky enough to pick up one of those carbon steel tigersharks about 6 months ago and love it. Beautiful knife along with a very nice sheath. Their is no comparison between the new and old tigershark...you cant beat the SK-5 carbon steel and the glint of a nice highly polished tigershark blade.

I just received my TigerShark today. What a nice blade with some real heft. Serrations work well too. More surface area given a shorter linear space. I like its feel. QUESTION...How would a Tigershark feel with a leather washer grip? I am buying some knife sheath leather for its new sheath today.
Do any of you know of a Satin Tigersharks to lead me to? Overall I am happy with the powder coating, but I prefer natural. I have a satin Tech Bowie that is beautiful.
I love the weight of the TigerShark. A real cleaver, sticker and slicer. Thanks SOG! :)

It might look "pretty" with the leather/washers handle, but with such a BIG, BIG knife, the soft kraton material is so helpful in managing the knife. But that's my opinion.

Upon closer inspection and with more time, I agree that the Kraton grip is of perfect shape and material. No it is not as nice looking, but it serves it purpose well. Pretty is as pretty does, eh?

I've always liked SOG's designs, but on knives such as the Tigershark I'd like to see a carbon steel blade. (If the Tigershark was made with a blade of 3V, I'd pay twice its going cost as of now). Also, Kraton is loosing its edge. Micarta, G-10, or even Zytel, are more suited for a big blade IMO. Oh yeah; a plain edge version would be steller.

Congrats on the new Shark. I don't know much about them except that mine shipped from Texas yesterday so it should be here sometime between Saturday and Tuesday. :D And yeah, it's the Carbon Steel version I was raving about a few months back. Finally got the money for it yesterday. :o

I found a seller on ebay that has the Tigershark without the serrated blade if anyone is interested. It is the powder coated blade though.

A powder coated Tigershark without the serrated blade? Where ? I can't fine it. Are you allowed to post the link?

I emailed this guy a few days ago as the picture does not show serrations on the blade. Seller responded that blade did not have the serrations like the current model. Sheath is also nylon vs Kydex. So, all I know is what the seller said. I purchased one but it has not arrived yet. Original issue were leather sheath. This must be an issue prior to the current one with the plastic sheath.
