I work outdoors and the 90 degree cloudless days get to me anymore. I bought my first tilley this last year and wear it quite a bit. I like it alot and wash it quite often. It is holding up great. I even bought a second for "dress" occasions or at least when I need a clean one
If you can live with the higher original cost, total ownership costs of a quality product in the long run are really cheaper overall. Yes, ~$60 is a lot for a cotton hat but, it beats the heck out of cheaper flimsy hats and, it just feels good wearing a quality piece of clothing. This is true of socks, shirts and, pants too.
