Well, I toyed around with my camera for a bit, and thought Id share some pictures of my Tim Hancock customs. These are the only customs I own, and I guess I dont really qualify as a "true" collector.
Anyways, I really like the two, even though they are just shelf queens, and not really suited for actual use. Which is good, I guess-as I probably couldnt get myself to EDC them! ;)

By the way, does anybody know what Tim Hancock is up to, nowadays?
None of the online places seem to stock his knives. Just wondering....... .

That folder is outstanding.

The only thing I know about what Tim is doing is that he is making knives that make me drool.

Congrats on your acquisitions. Both show the versatility of Tim's artistry and craftmanship.

Tim Hancock is alive and doing quite well. I point to you Exhibit A, which was completed about a month ago:

His benchmark Bowie and Sheath work. He has earned his Mastersmith rating well.

Thanks. Good to know that hes doing well.
Even though Im not a huge fan of Bowie knives, that piece is amazing-makes my knives look really plain! :)

Oh, and btw-nice photography too. Sure makes my humble attempts of photography, look even more dull... .

Thanks for the compliments. :)

Ive got these made by Tim in 1997 and 2000. And just fyi-the fixed blade sports desert ironwood, the folder mammoth ivory. Its pretty obvious, but I thought Id add this piece of info.......... . :)

For having only two customs, you sure could do a lot worse than those two. I am in love with the folder - and I am not even a folder guy. Congrats and thanks for sharing the pics with us.

And Coop - thanks for knocking me right off my chair with that bowie pic.

Akubra,
Having not really made the leap to custom folders,I could only aspire to one as nice as your mammoth ivory gem.The desert ironwood fixed blade is equally stunning, congrats on two beautiful customs.

Uh,yeah! What Roger said. :)

Hi Akubra,

very nice knives there!

I very much like the fixed blade. Clean flowing lines, nice materials and great workmanship! Congrats on 2 real beauties!!! :D

BTW don`t worry :foot: :o , it`s hard (almost impossible!?) to reach Coop`s photographer`s skills! :p :D :D

Very nice - the folder and the bowie in particular are spectacular.

Tim's work is outstanding. I definitely want to own a top shelf piece by him one of these days.

Thanks again for the compliments! :) Tim deserves the praise for sure.

So far I havent handled any other custom knives, but I think that Tims work is pretty amazing. Judging by my two customs, as well as the photos Ive seen... .

I kind of get the urge to save up some money and to try and get another one made by him......... . ;)

Ah, thats reassuring. Ive figured that Coop was more of a pro, anyways...! ;)

Visited with him @ the blade show and got a bowie off him, he's well. Would post a photo if I could figure out how. He also makes as nice a sheath as any knife maker I know.

Thanks Jim, for the information. You guys may get tired of looking @ my knives now that I know how to post photos.:D

If you have more like that Hancock I for one won't get tired at all of seeing them. That has to be one of the finest modern renditions of sheffield type pattern I have seen.
