Tim Hancock knives

Coop, I think the bowie you posted is about the nicest Hancock bowie I've seen and seen a few. I'm a sucker for the dark ivory.

Those are fantastic! The folder looks to have strong Michael Walker influence. It seems to have a certian flavor I normaly find only in a walker. Very nice. Coop, that Bowie is killer!!! Mike

Coop has a series of pics of Tim's pieces from the 2003 AKI that are amazing. The one titled 'Hancock Bowie' and a small hunter, both in damascus and figured ivory, are among the most beautiful knives I've ever seen.

I can't link the pics directly but I encourage people to go visit http://www.sharpbycoop.com. In particular, check out those babies:

I never get tired of looking at Tim Hancock's knives. I consider him to be one of, if not THE best knifemakers out there. At one time, I was fortunate enough to own a few of his knives, but he's long ago since then grown in the knifemaking ranks, to the point where I can no longer afford anything he makes, and can now only gaze fondly from a distance at his work.

Joss, I believe the Bowie and the Hunter you are referring to are on pg. 152-153 of David Darom's Custom Fixed-Blade book.
