Tim sent me this picture of his latest masterpiece... I asked, and received permission, to post it here for all to see... It is a spectacular knife! Enjoy!

It's a gents folder, with charoite inlays... I suppose thats all the info you'll need. The old saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words" is definitely true in this case.

The knife sold last week at the ECCKS.

Without a doubt, Tim creates some of the most beautiful knives in the business. This one is another masterpiece.

"Charoite was discovered in Russia in 1978 and is  named for the Charo River near where it was found. The colors in each piece range from bright lavender, violet and lilac to dark purple with both white, gray and black veining. Charoite is so unusual looking with its strange looking swirly  strands of fibrous material that it is often mistaken for a synthetic.  It ranges from 5 - 6 on the MOHS scale.

Folk Lore:   Enhances self-esteem, accelerates spiritual growth,  and ability to love."

I had the chance to see Tim at the ECCKS with this and several other knives of his, and they are a thrill to handle. I got to look at ihis one under a loupe and the work that went into the engraving is amazing.

I guess you all know Tim is quite a character, friendly and funny in person? One of the most respected knifemakers around.

That is one beautiful folder, my friend. What did the knife sell for? Aloha!</font>

Out of respect for the maker, and the collector, the selling price of the knife was not posted.... I will leave it up to those two to decide if they want to post the price...

Thanks Gene!
Great info Phil (I collect rocks and minerals too).

Tim still amazes me with just about anything he does and the other aspect of Tim is that you have to get to meet and know him a little before you start drawing conclusions about the man.

Great to have all of you hanging around at that time of the morning.

I sleep alot better.

If my jaw drops and nobody's around, does it make a noise? Very nice knife.

Not too shabby! Blade & design are up to Tim's usual HIGH standards but the engraving & inlay work is incredibly beautiful!!! Use of colors & materials(Charoite) work as well as I have seen on any knife - I love the way the design is not overdone - elegant & eye-catching - work of a true artist!

P.S. - No Tac-Babes for this one! - it deserves a TAC-GODDESS!

I also had the pleasure of handling this baby at the ECCKS. The pictures do not do it justice! The knife was absolutely incredible. Tim was a riot, also. Very nice guy once ya get to know him.

What a fantastic looking work of art. It really pi$$es me off that one person should be that talented.

And as others have noted, behind the veneer you sometimes see on the forums, he's a nice guy as well.

...Still pi$$es me off though!

Amazing piece there. Everything is just right. The lines, the colors, the patterns to the engraving and the materials.... hell, even his signature looks like it was made to be on that blade. Unbelievable.

I'm with Mr._Turner on this one too. The market is jammed with tactical stuff.... so much so that it seems true artists cannot come out and express themselves with such vivid color and form. Lucky for us, Tim Herman has never been much of a conformist.

Ya know, maybe I'm missing it, but I don't see a nail nick or thumb stud on this knife. That's not a hidden release auto is it?
Oooh... Got all tingly just thinking about it!
