Tim Wegner!

I won a large plainedge tim wegner on e-bay. I had one about 5 years ago, and man would that knife cut. I always regretted selling it. Can't wait to get this one. Would like to try it on a deer. I used my son's tim wegner lock back on a deer, and it was one of the best knives, I have ever used field dressing and skinning a deer. Does anyone else like this knife?

At last count I had SEVEN of them.
Large, small, plain, partially serrated, even a numbered one. (C49 PE #472)

The large Wegner by spyderco is my all time favorite knife! If I had to get
rid of all my knives and keep only ONE that would be the ONE.Easy choice.
Also have a spyderco Wegner Mouse which is very cool.I've always wanted
a spyderco Wegner jr..kind of my holy grail,maybe someday.Mr. Wegner
has his own brand of knives at Bladetech.com,very similar designs there.
More recently spyderco has released the "Ocelot" which was designed
by Mr. Wegner.

I just checked my stash of spyderco wegner's.I have four of the large and four of the jr's and only one of each is combo-edge.
the funny thing is I would have swore I had five of each.I guess old age is catching up with me.I only own a single mouse I gave each of my sons one for Christmas a few years back.

jr. combo-edge. I only have a handful of folders, but this one is right at the top. Relegated it to storage a while ago. So nice to carry.

Yeah... The Wegner is definitely a great knife: very well built, fantastic ergos, good blade geometry, etc.. I especially liked the texture of the G-10 scales on mine.

Unfortunately, I stupidly gave my large, plain edge Wegner to an NKP friend several years ago. I doubt he's ever used it. :grumpy:
