Tim Zowada "puukko" WIP

Great knife I love his stuff. What are you thinking for a sheath...dangler...pouch?

No dangler, I don't care for them.

My preference is for scabbard type sheaths, and Paul knows this, but likely it will be a pouch in either black or dark brown, with some sort of inlay....maybe.

I asked Paul to call me when he gets the knife so we can discuss what he thinks would work to optimum performance....and give the most aesthetically superior appeal.

Love that wood! Great looking all by its lonesome. Wrap it around that steel and enhance it with the bronze...Love it!

Can't wait to see what Paul makes to keep it warm.

Cell phone pics or no...another great WIP. Wonderful to get brought along with the build.

That handle is just too nice for words. Amazing.

All that it would need to be......There's just enough drop to the point ( and very gracefully done ), not
too much drop at the choil, and a beautiful, easy to use handle......A balanced package..

Master Leathersmith Paul Long finished the sheath today and the last two pics are from him, I should have knife in hand next week!

Thanks for looking.

I'm late to the party as far as posting, but as you all know I held this one in my hand. Ever so often one will come through my shop that is just above and beyond for one reason or another. You know….. you love it when you see it and love it even more when you pick it up. Well, this is one of those knives. Believe me, none of the photos, including mine, come near doing this piece justice. As someone said earlier you can almost see the electricity running through the wood. Fit and finish is perfect…it's just the whole nine yards. As far as the sheath goes it was a real pleasure to make, and it just kind of flowed together. The sheath color is much better looking than the photos and matches up to compliment the knife just right.

It's a keeper for sure, STevie.

Thanks for posting, and thanks for making such a beautiful sheath, Pappy!

Much love,

STevie

STeven, have enjoyed following this along. The results are spot on. What a fine package. The twist Damascus and spectacular wood, wrapped with Paul's clothing. A big fan, here.

Hello STeven!

Thanks a lot for the image of your goodies! You have some really great pieces in there! I would most certainly enjoy all of these myself, the wood, the stag and the pearl! Do you allready have a plan for the pearl?

All the best,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Glad you appreciated my crappy, quick shot of the handle materials....was in a hurry when I took it, but I would have forgotten otherwise.

Don't have a plan for the pearl......yet.....have no idea what the knives will be that it goes on, but do know the next three folders I order will have black lip scales, lol.

Take care and Best Regards,

Paul - Thank you for making me look good!

Steven - Thanks for the nudge back in to making knives. Making this knife was a nice change of pace from the razors.

Truly my pleasure, Tim.

Wait 'til you see what I have in mind for the next project.:D

This thread has provided an added bonus for me, as Tim has kindly agreed to finish the top blade in the group of three that STeven posted for me. :)

Great to see more of Tim's work. I have one of his Bowies, and it's been a long time since I've seen another.
