Timber Rattler Hike!!!

of the various snakes i've encountered the copperhead seems to be the most laid back. i walked & stood close to them & they seem ho-hum. i'm in total agreement that snakes when shedding are much more moody.read a book a while back called Salvation On Sand Mountain. true life journal of the religious sects that dance with vipers. these people obtain cobras & other vipers besides rattlers for their ceremonies. we can expect to run into anything these days. dennis--few yrs. back fishing in a hot water discharge plant we spotted a huge snake in a cove in the water. t.v. shows have made me aware it was a burmese python.

Them are some pretty snakes. I am not a huge fan of Rattlers, but those are very colorful and well, nice looking! It's fun to see them now and then. I recall seeing a HUGE Diamondback down in Pinellas Park in FL back in the early 70's... no kidding... it was about 7 feet long! Ouch!
