Anyone have any reviews on these knives yet? Heard Lightfoot was involved in the design, and they can take a beating. Love the blade designs. Price seems good too!

Just saw one today at the OKCA show in Eugene OR - the thing is a BEAST! Good thing to have if you need to murder a car. A guy was selling it for $20. I would have snatched it up but I hate chisel-grinds. It's made in China with some steel that's the equivalent of 420HC, or so the guy said. It has very good ergonomics and opens nice and smooth. I might grab it when I go back tomorrow.

FishFace5, if it is 20 bucks, you better grab it quick. I went to timberline website and they are retailing at around 140. Real world will probably be about 90 or so. They look cool. Website says frame lock, and titanium. 440 steel is what they list for the blade. I saw a pic in a mag of a guy batoning with the folder. Pretty tough!

I finally found some pictures of this knife that show both sides. The blade was the spear point and it was definately not a chisel grind as I'm with FF5, and would drop it like a hot potato! But does this mean the tanto blade is a chisel grind? I would not think the wharncliffe would be chisel ground though. I still think I will go ahead and get one due to the low price, even if it does have "CHINA" written on it.;):D

I have a Timberline Workhorse that was made in China. Good knife.

Timberline has quality stuff. I'll wait for $$ to go down and be buying a Delta-18.

Wanted to pass this along, the Tactical Knives article I referred to earlier has an error. It says these knives are AUS8, which I thought was incorrect, so I contacted Timberline to make sure and they are in fact 440C.

Are we talking about the same knives? I can not understand how some of you are seeing them at 20 and 28 dollars. These knives are listed at 140. That is one heck of a price cut. The description on the website has them as frame locks with a titanium and G-10 handle. 28 bucks is mind blowing.

There are two lines. Timberline Knife & Tool and Timberline Tactical.

That might be where the confusion is coming from.

The Tanto point has a one-sided grind (i'm sure there is a much better term for it but at the moment i am at a loss) and im not sure how one would go about sharpening it. any suggestions?

Would that be a chisel grind?

I am pretty sure you sharpen the ground side like normal and just touch up the flat side.
