Timberline Envoy confusion

Knifecenters web site says their knife has Black chequered aluminum handles.

1SKS says G-10 scales. Knifecenters picture looks like a G-10 handled knife. But maybe the picture is wrong. I dunno.

Obviously there is a big difference in price.

Try looking for this knife at other retailers and see if their are aluminum And G-10 versions with different prices.

An ad in Blade Magazine makes it sound like the handles are aluminum anodized to look like g-10...but that'd be stupid, wouldn't it?

------------------
You could put nacho cheese sauce on it...

It is G-10 not aluminum. I was going to buy the knife but the blade was too small.

Does anyone know if timberline is going to make a larger version?

What is the url for timberline's website? What is their email address?

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but according to Nancy at Timberline Knives (1-800-LIV-SHARP), who checked with the President of the company, the Envoy design (which originally called for G10 scales) has been equipped with 6061-T6 aluminum scales instead. I only found out for certain after ordering one and noticing that the handle seemed colder than it should in my air-conditioned room (G10 handles are relatively inert, temperature-wise). Nancy said that they changed the specs at the last minute, AFTER all the literature was published. It's still a nice knife - but I love G10 handles,so... back it went!
Sorry, Fred, et.al.
