SOOOO to recap... NOBODY here can actually agree on what the first five knives are made of. We can't even agree on the micarta/G-10 bolster materials of the knives, let alone the wood.
Here's an interesting tidbit I didn't know before today... ANY wood can be spalted! Doesn't that really narrow down #1 and #5? I mean here I was thinking I'd only seen a few types of spalted wood before. Even more interesting is the fact the wood can actually be 'spalted' at home using fungi and the like to any wood pieces you might be willing to try it on to make all sorts of cool colors and shapes.
What does all of this prove? Hmm.... maybe 'we' should label the Ganza knife materials henceforth, what do you say BOSS?
