Hey folks,
holiday season is here, and I think it's high time to say thank you (again!) to this forum and the people who make it a safe haven for our knife enthusiasm :)
One of the (many) aspects of this forum that never ceases to amaze me is the generosity of all of you. In the last year or so, I've received many gifts here, so it's time to thank you and give something back.
Thanks to Glenn for his skills and kindness; the modified GEC 66 jack is even more special for the way he handled the whole process.

Thanks to Duncan for being Duncan (I think that's enough to say)

Thanks to Gevonovich for his kindness and talents:

Thanks to David for sharing his knowledge and sharpening skills (and for gifting me the clamp as well):

Thanks to Kevin, Sarah, Christian, Andi, Will, Elliott, Thom, Alex, Vic, Duane and many more: you all have a special place in my "knife novel" and for each of you it's not just a matter of knives anymore, but of friendship and kindness. Also thanks to Evan for his giveaway (hey I won!), to Frank and Gary, our hosts ("mods" is too cold), and thanks to Paul for providing the name for this thread :D

Now, back to the gifawae thing :D
After more than a year without buying any knife, I recently got these two, which I like alot:

...so I feel it's time for the "one in, one out" routine and send a couple knives out for a flight and a change of address.

This is open to the regulars here (we know who we are: no matter your post count, if I recognize your screen name then you are eligible).
Here's how it works.
Post your entry and bet on a knife (no matter if it's yours or not). Let's say that your budget and resources are infinite and you want to gift me the knife of my dreams...just because you think I'm worth it  It can be a custom or production model, present or past, FB or folder, of any pattern (as long as it's traditional of course). I will pick my favourite one on Sunday night (no obligation to actually gift it to me, but hey, it's up to you :D), and then pick a second winner randomly among all entries for an added gift...and possibly a third one
What you might be getting is a lightly used (but in great condition - just needs some sharpening) pocket worn Bermuda green bone SBJ (that also came into my possession due to the generosity of another member here):

or a lightly used Schrade USA 93OT (internet picture - can't find my own pic :p)

Post your entries, make me drool, and happy holidays to all of you and your dear ones :)

Hey Fausto, you are one of our very special regulars my friend, it's always a pleasure to read your posts. A very imaginative giveaway, and generous as always, but like yourself, I've also been the recipient of much knife-shaped kindness this year, and I'd really take more pleasure from seeing one of our other regulars win, so not an entry please. Just to say thanks, and to wish everyone good luck :)

I don't think I quite qualify as a regular yet, I hope to one day :) though even if I was I would have to say not an entry, I have been the recipient of much generosity already. Thankyou for your generosity and your contributions to this wonderful forum!

I'm definitely in.
Heres my runner.

Black cherry #53 cuban muskrat
Cheers Fausto and merry Xmas.

Not an entry. Just trying to get to up to speed in the world of traditionals.
I do see the comradery many of you have with each other. I have not seen this level of personal familiarity/friendship in any other forum.
Nice give-away and Merry Christmas.

I have a hard time imagining anyone wanting anything more than a GEC #15 spear main blade, long pull, with ebony covers. Truly beautiful. Wish I had one. Thank you for the generosity.

Interesting GAW Fausto, makes my brain work with the morning coffee :D
OK, for unlimited budget I'd buy every one here a knife , lol

As for you, I think of a custom knife, made by the master himself, Mr. T. Bose, 3.5" closed, single sheepfoot blade, long pull, swedge on two sides of blade, something elegant.
Scales would be smooth older bone white-brown color just like GEC primitive bone, shadow pattern with threaded bolsters and no shield.
And the cherry on top would be ZERO waiting time-yours will be first in the list.

Merry Xmas Fausto

Hey, if the sky's the limit, here's what I would pick (or something close to it)
Jared Oeser Custom in Ironwood (his pic, not mine)

Merry Christmas to you! Aw heck, Merry Christmas to everyone!

Well I Certainly FEEL like a regular lol I'm always on here reading all the amazing story's and drooling over the beautiful photographs. But what amazes me most about this forum is the crazy amount of generosity that goes on everyday around here. It's so refreshing to find a community of people with this much comradery!.... so while i dont qualify as a regular member, I Just wanted to put myself out there and wish everyone a merry Christmas.
Cheers and god bless.

If I was picking a sky is the limit knife to give...

This knife pic has been in my computer for a while. Not sure of the picture credit, nor do I remember the maker off the top of my head.

I believe it is gold lipped mop backed by gold leaf. Gold pins and shield.

Thanks for the chance, Fausto! I can´t resist; so I´m in. :)

The #66 is such a wonderful pattern, isn´t it. Definitelly my all-time-fave!

Thanks for reminding us of some of the generosity you've experienced here, Fausto. And thanks for sponsoring this interesting GAW. If it were in my power, I'd give you EARL!!

Hey guys, some of you might remember Earl.

Good calls so far guys. :)
As stated in the opening post, pictures give you a better chance to win. ;)
Keep playing folks! A third prize might be closing in as well...

Please count me in as well. Very generous of you and beautiful knives. Merry Christmas!

Not an entry, Fausto. I just stopped in to say how honored I am to be included in you GAW back story. My hobby has always been more about the pleasure I get out of doing what I do for others, and it's the friendships I have made along the way that are the true win!

Glenn

I have been somewhat busy of late :) but I saw the title and thought - Hey, I recognise that!

A great idea Fausto, well done you. I've been lucky with gifawaes over the years so from me, not an entry. Good luck to all those in the running!
