....and the random winner of the Schrade USA+ 93Ot is post #14 and our fellow member 5K Qs!
Congratulations! And merry Christmas!
Fausto
Well, this is embarrassing!

Here it is, a month after Fausto posted this "winner announced", and I just realized I never publicly acknowledged/ thanked him in his original thread!!
So thank you very much for your generous "gifawae" of that fine Old Timer, Fausto! And thank you for your flexibility in following up on this.
Although I never posted anything here until now, Fausto and I did have an enjoyable email exchange, and
almost met in person
the day after Christmas. Here's the story:
On Christmas Eve (a Wednesday) I flew to Spain to visit my daughter, arriving about 8am Christmas morning, Madrid time. Sometime on Christmas (Thursday), I borrowed my daughter's computer to check email, and found a message from Fausto notifying me of my good fortune and requesting my address. I responded with my US address, but also explained that I'd be in Spain for almost 3 weeks, and if it would be more convenient or less expensive to send the knife to my daughter's address, he was certainly welcome to do so. I soon went to bed, since I'd been awake for about 40+ hours by that time.
Apparently, Fausto replied with a very exciting proposal: he would be in Madrid from early Friday afternoon until early Saturday morning, and would be glad to hand me my "prize" in person! Unfortunately, my daughter had arranged for us to leave Madrid first thing Friday morning for several days in Sevilla and Granada. My access to email on that trip was limited, but I did manage to eventually find Fausto's proposal, apologize for not responding sooner, and express my regrets. Fausto and I were both disappointed we couldn't meet. I've never met a BF member in person, but the strange thing is I've come closest to having that happen on my trip to Spain. We left Madrid for Sevilla before Fausto arrived, and BF member "Sevilla", who lives in Sevilla and gave me much useful info about Spanish knives, left Sevilla for Madrid (to visit his wife's family, I think) before my daughter and I arrived in Seville. I should have probably tried to arrange a meeting between Fausto and Sevilla while they were both in Madrid and I was away!
Fausto and I managed to exchange a couple of other emails while I was in Spain, discussing some of the joys and challenges of travel, and I enjoyed that immensely.
So, Fausto, thanks again for your generosity and your thoughtfulness! I'm really looking forward to the arrival of the 93 OT, both as a very desirable knife and as a "trigger" to fond memories of our interactions!
