Well, this is embarrassing! :(:o:(
Here it is, a month after Fausto posted this "winner announced", and I just realized I never publicly acknowledged/ thanked him in his original thread!!
So thank you very much for your generous "gifawae" of that fine Old Timer, Fausto! And thank you for your flexibility in following up on this.

Although I never posted anything here until now, Fausto and I did have an enjoyable email exchange, and almost met in person
the day after Christmas. Here's the story:

On Christmas Eve (a Wednesday) I flew to Spain to visit my daughter, arriving about 8am Christmas morning, Madrid time. Sometime on Christmas (Thursday), I borrowed my daughter's computer to check email, and found a message from Fausto notifying me of my good fortune and requesting my address. I responded with my US address, but also explained that I'd be in Spain for almost 3 weeks, and if it would be more convenient or less expensive to send the knife to my daughter's address, he was certainly welcome to do so. I soon went to bed, since I'd been awake for about 40+ hours by that time.

Apparently, Fausto replied with a very exciting proposal: he would be in Madrid from early Friday afternoon until early Saturday morning, and would be glad to hand me my "prize" in person! Unfortunately, my daughter had arranged for us to leave Madrid first thing Friday morning for several days in Sevilla and Granada. My access to email on that trip was limited, but I did manage to eventually find Fausto's proposal, apologize for not responding sooner, and express my regrets. Fausto and I were both disappointed we couldn't meet. I've never met a BF member in person, but the strange thing is I've come closest to having that happen on my trip to Spain. We left Madrid for Sevilla before Fausto arrived, and BF member "Sevilla", who lives in Sevilla and gave me much useful info about Spanish knives, left Sevilla for Madrid (to visit his wife's family, I think) before my daughter and I arrived in Seville. I should have probably tried to arrange a meeting between Fausto and Sevilla while they were both in Madrid and I was away! :p

Fausto and I managed to exchange a couple of other emails while I was in Spain, discussing some of the joys and challenges of travel, and I enjoyed that immensely.

So, Fausto, thanks again for your generosity and your thoughtfulness! I'm really looking forward to the arrival of the 93 OT, both as a very desirable knife and as a "trigger" to fond memories of our interactions!

Well done you guys .Congrats.
And Thanks for a champion giveaway Fausto.

The "Madrid coincidence" was fun, and it would have been great to meet in person, but time and fate will offer us some other opportunity :) to be honest, none of the prizes of this gifawae (including the surprise gift) have reached their destination so far, but they will soon
Thanks again to everyone who stepped in to play. Hosting a gifawae is even better than winning one ;)

Thanks, Fausto. One thing that really impressed me about your gifawae is that you were willing to give away your 93 OT, even though you apparently really like it a lot!:thumbup::thumbup: I noticed in the GAW that Derrick from KSF ran, in which he was soliciting ideas for new Northwoods SFOs, you suggested something similar to the 93 OT as something you'd love to see! So I'm honored to receive a knife you think so highly of! Thank you very much, good sir! :D:D

Last Thursday, the 93 OT i was lucky enough to win in Fausto's gifawae arrived in my mailbox at work! :D
First package I ever received from Italy, and my first ever Schrade USA +, and it even came with the box! Very attractive knife, and I really like the blade combination of a long clip and a shorter sheepsfoot. Thanks again for your generosity, Fausto!!

Thanks, Jack! It certainly is a nice knife, and I can see why Fausto thinks so highly of it. That he was willing to part with such a fine knife makes his generosity all the more impressive!:cool::cool::thumbup:

GT,
glad the knife made it to your door (the other prizes should be close to their destination as well), and glad you like it :)
Sometimes, it's good to let go of the nice things that we like...cause others will like them as well ;)

That's certainly true in this case, and a wise principle to follow! ;)
Thanks again for sending me an outstanding knife, Fausto!

Just to let you know Fausto, that Case Sway back showed up today in the mail. Great little knife.

I plan on carrying it to to the office tomorrow!

I'll have to take a few pics when the weather is nice.

Thanks again!

Hi T,
I was wondering how long it would take  but fortunately it's in your hands now :)
Enjoy it!
