Time for a Giveaway!

Yeah. Had to chime in when I saw a fellow Canadian's :( sadface thinking he would not be included in this great giveaway. Boosting the ruggedly beautiful Cabot Trail just falls naturally to anyone who has been there!

Your giveaway (which I do thoroughly appreciate) deserves to be hafted, tossed, plunged, stomped, thrown, jabbed, smacked around a little and otherwise lovingly treasured ... strictly in the survival sense! And with pics or it didn't happen, right?

Whew ... I am not that person. ;) Thank you for working so hard on this GAW for everybody. Without entering, here are pictures of 'my' river here. If you are very still, something interesting is bound to drift by.

There's the spirit!! :D

You're entered :)
1) Your pooch looks like an awesome paddling buddy :)
2) What river is that? Love the shot of it in the fall!

I am going to post another pic , not to help my chances (well maybe a bit ;)) but mostly because this thread should be bumped, I think it's an awesome giveaway and more entries are in order.
I also misread the rules (again) and thought only one picture was allowed, I had some comprehension issues for sure.

I must fess up ... this area is plagued with tag elders and oxbows and fanged beaver and biting kingfishers ... and then there are the blackflies ... and when these pass there are the deer flies, horseflies (bigger and bigger) and thirteen varieties of mosquitoes hatching in shifts all summer long ... to well past hard frost if truth be known. Yes, I know the pics look ok ... but it is only fair to be honest so you can not choose this as a destination.

Did I mention the locals are hostiles? Maybe I should edit that out ...

There, I can sleep tonight!

Paddling buddy is Tal. Black River East of Bracebridge, Ontario. To see it leaping with happiness at the very thought of spring >

Liam, beautiful! Very idyllic. One day!

Taldesta, I think you've secured it for your own, exclusive use. Great job! Haha :D I remember that thread, thanks for linking it, now I'll give it another go

ETA: Wow! Hope your community made out ok, and I'm glad your kayak didn't float away!

I'll add some more pics from a short hike on the Ouachita Trail

If you want a trail experience where you won't see many people, if any, then this is worthy of a consideration.

The Trail!

Just noticed my first pic disappeared! Oh well, she will have the one with the wild horses to judge me on, I suppose.

Alright! She's picked!

1) Liam Ryan - she'd love to check out the buddhist monastery and feed wild horses apples, and with such a background! And she also liked the story of the fellow who used his winnings to keep it open for folks

2) bronyblacksmith - my gf said she completely got the story and the importance to you  Not to mention, climbing trees is a whole lot of fun :)

Shoot me your addresses, and I'll get the stuff out to you, at latest, early next week if I can't make it to PO this weekend.

Congrats, and I hope you guys can put the stuff to good use! Thanks to all you other guys who contributed! :)

Oh, and Lobo13, I didn't comment on it specifically, but those gorge shots were awesome! And Dwarthog, Big Bend is definitely on my list

Thanks again all!

Congratz to the winners! The prizes are really cool, bet you'll enjoy 'em. Thanks again for the giveaway HM. Love to read everyone's stories.

I can't believe I won! I didn't want to say it but I have been looking for something just like that arrow card, and was thinking of trying to make one. (I am a machinist)
but never would have, like the other million projects I dream up.
Thanks very much, I hope you get to see this beautiful part of the world someday, and I hope I get back pretty soon myself. :)

Congrats to the winners!

HikingMano, thanks for supplying the prizes!

Hope you get the chance to visit Big Bend and Feb is a great time to go as you have already noted.

Good going! Congratulations all! Looking forward to pics ...

For all the work in this giveaway, my sense is that adding an exciting destination to HikingMano's go-to list is a great reward. I suspect he has all of them marked on the map as I type. :)

Liam, perfect! :)

Dwarthog, I definitely hope to within a couple of years!

Taldesta, I do!:)
