  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Time for a GIVEAWAY!!!!!

1. Strike anywhere matches, waterproof 2. One of those small flat compasses like Randall Made's hollow survival knife models come with 3. Small length of 550 cord 4. Pocket-sized Arkansas stone 5. Fishing hook 6. Needle and thread 7. Maybe you can squeeze a couple of small packets of QuikClot or Celox granules in there? 8. Can you possibly squeeze a pocket-sized magnesium firestarter into that pouch alongside the sharpening stone? 9. A couple of 33cc ammonia inhalant ampules (for reviving somebody that has fainted)
10. Some small packets of antibiotic ointment (bacitracin or similar) 11. Fold a couple of individually wrapped gauze squares into the pouch 12. Would one of the really small SAK models fit in there too?!

I'm thinking that maybe you can use some sort of waterproof material to package those items together tightly enough so that the whole package just drops (or squeezes) right into that pouch. Vacuum-seal it all?

I hope this helps. I really like the knife and the sheath. I hope you use them well.

SWMBO makes lip balm, lotion, and soap -- so I have access to those rectangular tins with sliding tops -- about 1x2x.5" - 2 of those (one fishing kit, one tinder kit), a survival straw, and a small multi-tool or a fenix flashlight would fill it up nicely.

I would use it for a small first aid kit. Bandaids, gauze, tape, quickclot, antibiotic ointment, sting relief, painkillers, anti-diarrheal, Benedryl, and a small bottle of hand sanitizer. Maybe an epipen if anyone in your family has severe allergies.

Depending on where you will be... I'll plan on the Pacific Northwest (where I live)

Fallkniven DC-3 (amazing sharpener)
Light my Fire Ferro Rod (Looks like you have a loop for it so I will assume it is not int he pouch
micro fishing kit - couple hooks, couple weights, length of fishing line (wrapped around a small pencil and covered in electrical tape), portable pole eyelet (a pole eyelet secured to a pipe clamp - so you can tighten it on to a pole)
Length of para cord (Usually wrap my sheath)
Mini bic lighter
inner tubing (Ranger bands) stretched over the para cord - around the sheath
Leatherman micro or SAK classic... your choice but I prefer the leatherman so I can use pliers;)

Good luck and enjoy!!

Any chance u can post pics of the tins?
Thanks

these plus the knife and firesteel should cover the basics.
booklet of paper matches
3 band-aids
para cord around the sheath
emergency poncho
a few feet of hemp cord for starting fire
small flash light
gallon size plastic bag
slim whistle

Thanks for all the great ideas. Ill keep this going till sunday night and then pick a winner!!!

Thanks again!!!

I would shove a fire kit something like this in the pouch along with some tarred nylon bank line then paracord wrapped or tied off to the sheath somehow. Cool giveaway BTW, and thanks!

Fire kit has a little magnesium and ferro rod, scraper, sparklite and some tinders.

DUAL FIRESTARTER KIT™

OR

Because you already have a ferro rod on it. I'd put some sparklite tinders in a small sealable bag inside, small sharpening stone, small vial with fishing gear, 2 bobbins, one with fishing line and one with snare wire. Or just roll up the snare wire as you see fit.

Based on what a person might actually really use or need:
A Bic lighter wrapped in some $10 & $20 US bills and some Dexedrine (uppers) and the best pain pills you can find, also a couple of lock pick pins.
Really.

I agree with this, and would include some coins - sometimes you may find a vending machine that does not take bills - maybe not in the wild, but 'ya never know.

Here is the knife

Nice!!!

Not sure of what kind of kit your looking for. A urban kit would be a little different than a survival/wilderness type kit. I could see some extra money stuffed in there would help in town but not so much in the woods.

Anyway, I did a challenge a few years ago with just an altoids tin of stuff and a knife for three days and two nights out in the woods. Here's what I took (this was before I knew about JK Knives)

Basically
Fire stuff- tinder, candle, matches, fresnel lens, fire steel (you could substitute a mini bic since you have the fire steel loop on the sheath)
Water- plastic bag, and water purification tablets
Food- fishing kit, snare wire, cordage/twine
Maratac AAA flashlight, needle, safety pin & an Off wipe (bug repellant)

Any chance u can post pics of the tins?
Thanks

I can fit 6 of these tins in an altoid tin - with a little room to spare.
JK-O added for size comparison. :D
attachment.php

knotted lanyard of paracord or other similar cord, approx. 5' or so
2 to 3 fish hooks
mini bic lighter
mini flashlight
fill any remaining space with jolly ranchers.
that is all.

I meant to opt out of the giveaway in my post, I see I neglected to put that in. I'm glad you like the items in my kit. I've been on the receiving end of a couple giveaways, and would rather someone else have a shot at it. Thanks for doing the giveaway and it was interesting to see all the ideas.
