Mr. Ferguson?

Are you funding him all by yourself? Not fair to the rest of us.;)

You will have all the support we can give you, if you go through the burden of organizing it.

Deal?

deal.

FUNDRAISER....FUNDRAISER....part of Bill Martino's legacy....FUNDRAISER....NOT that other thing. :(

Hi Kismet,
I'll be sending an email to everyone on the list for a new fundraiser within the next 2 days. I've done my typical poor job of communicating to everyone, but Ram has been taken care of, up til this point.

For the new folks, Rameshwor Sunar is the son of Sgt. Khadka, a part-time Kami, and a sargeant in the Army of Nepal. Bill Martino recognized that Ram had potential and put him through school in Nepal. He is the first in his family to get any education at all. He is now in his fourth (I think?) year of medical school in Riga, Latvia. When Bill got sick, a group of forumites took over the task of finishing his education. We hold fundraisers periodically to provide for his tuition and living expenses.

If you are interested in participating, please send me an email to sferguson2@triad.rr.com. We can't go into detail on the forum to stay within Bladeforums rules.

Thanks,
Steve

Thank you for continue supports to Ram,

This is one of those charities I enthusiastically support as it really does help the community Ram lives in.

Kis, I JUST got your e-mail. I apologize for taking so long. I've been away from my computer more often than not the last couple of weeks.

I have changed the thread title from raffle to fundraiser to avoid any issues with the BFC rules.

Sorry about being so tardy to the game, folks. :o

Sigh, what am I? Chopped cheese? I coulda changed it also, but no one asked.:grumpy:

:D:D:D

Dear Chopped Cheese,

It seemed inappropriate to inundate the mods with a request for a correction. One does not want to make a fuss over a small thing.

However, in the future, I will direct all matters--great and small--towards your attention, and encourage everyone else I know to do the same.

In fact, I will suggest that you be contacted with domestic matters, house-breaking the pets, all weather concerns, and financing issues with creditors for everyone I know.

Futher, I think all political discussions should first be directed to you, as well as any contentious items regarding religion.

Oh...and any discussions of the "Ford vs Chevy," pistol vs revolver, EBR vs bolt gun, and MAC vs PC will also be your provenance.

Just want you to know you are appreciated. :D:D:D

OK, I'm having trouble with my regionalization settings. I mean, is 'chopped cheese' an insult/pejorative somewhere, maybe in Wisconsin? When I was growing up (yes, I know that it didn't work), the phrase was 'chopped liver'. And do you have any idea how hard it is to CHOP cheese?

There's a cheese cutting joke in there somewhere that I'm just not gonna touch:D

I will go on the record as saying that I too thought the expression was chopped liver. Furthermore, I find Ted neither chopped protein nor dairy:D Kis probably just sent me the message because it is a well known fact that Ted is both highly successful and sought after in all personal and business affairs. Women want him and men want to be him:D:thumbup:

As for myself, I am but a lonely pool guy waiting for the maddeningly boring winter months to set in as I name the wolf spiders that skitter across my office floor:(;);):D

Is this the same individual that SOGGUY donated many of his knifes to. This story sounds familiar. If it is Dick thought very highly of this cause.

That's the one, rroundy. Dick sent a number of knives to Norm for that purpose, I believe.

he held him in high regard. good for you guys to do something of this magnitude. this brought to fruition will touch countless lives and increase exponentially.

Ram is one of the good guys. I think he's in his fourth year of school too and doing great. I can't wait for the next fundraiser... :D

Fundraiser goodies. Contact Steve Ferguson via email for details. Think this is ok within the framework of the forums. Hope so, anyway.

If not, please delete and know that I will go and never sin again.

IT IS GOING ON NOW.....EMAIL STEVE FERGUSON FOR DETAILS.

This is an H. I. blood debt. Only profit is your karma and Ram's education and all the patients he may help in his lifetime. ALL THE PATIENTS he may help in his lifetime !!!
Nepali folks don't have access to much medical care.

Old, New...strangers, passers-by...come one, come all ....

(yeah, I know I'm pushing it a bit. :( )

be well and safe.

Well, mods censor me if it's wrong.

But Steve also sells a few khuks in the sale section, everything going to Ram.

Got a Bilton I think I'll end up giving to my father fas a Christmas/retirement gift.

My good karma is (now) assured for the next semester. :D

Notice from looking at some of those khuks Steve is the Tru-Oil finish guy. I learned from his instructions and my neem Tarwar has a glassy handle which shows off the multi-colored grain really well... the many cycles of applying Tru-Oil and steel-wooling give you time to reflect on the cycles of rebirth.

Or, you could just enter the raffle and win Tru-Oil-finish khuk. Much easier. ;)

Mike

I guess my karma is good for 15-20 minutes (it's not the number of tickets, it's all the past lives I've screwed up).

Steve got me started on the Tru-Oil, too. If you take a look at the picture links that Kis posted, under 'Steve's personal Stuff', you'll see that 'under glass' look on some of the handles. Sweet.

In his raffle email, he has a line 'If you don't see something you want, just ask, I probably have it!'. He's not kidding, either. I took advantage of that last time, and got a beautiful Scandinavian knife.

The late Walosi, and my good friend Yvsa, taught me 99% of what I know about Tru-oil, and refinishing wood handles. Kudos go to them!:)
