Time For A Ram Fundraiser ??????

This report taken from an email by Steve Ferguson:

"And now the good news. So far we have raised $908.74! You are all so generous, that it really warms my heart. The fact that a group of people can come together from all over the world to help educate a young man that they will never meet is just amazing. You are the best."


That means SIX winning tickets will be pulled.​
You could also, you know, send knives for the next Fund-raiser...you know, if you wanted to do that....be a good thing, I think.

Ok Steve, for those of us who are new at this, how does it work? Do you assign tickets and then pick them at random. Do you post the winners on the forums or notify them by email? Just curious on how this raffle is conducted (really, the wife wants to know, I'm just going on good faith myself.)

Discussing the specifics of the fundraiser here on the forum is against Bladeforums rules. We're allowed to annouce that we're having a fundraiser, but not much more. I'll send out an email tonight to everyone on the list answering your questions.

There are a lot of ways to run a fundraiser. One could for example put the names on a paper, once for each entry, cut those up, put them in a bag, shake for 5 minutes and draw out names. Then pull out one at a time. One could notify the winners by email that they had won. The first name drawn could get to pick first, and an email would be sent out telling the winners what had been picked, and what was still available.

But I'll answer that tonight.

I'm curious, what does a semester of Medical school in Latvia cost?

If that can't be spoken about I understand, really none of my business anyway, but it's an interesting situation.

Tuition alone is about $2500 per semester. Quite a bargain by US standards.

My personal thanks to everyone, including BF tolerance, for being such decent people. Folks from another forum also helped, even if I aggravated the owner. My bad.

I hope I'm around to hear of Ram's graduation.
