When did this forum become so annoying? I thought we were here to discuss knives.

I feel like it's getting out of control the last few months.

Has the Busse Combat forum jumped the shark?

I think we just need some new knives from Jerry. People are getting a bit of a Busse Dry Drunk going...................... :)))

Off topic stuff is usually jumped on pretty quick, Hammy must be taking a loooong nap.:p

and ya, I'm with Heavy, what is "Jump the shark"???

Now, lets get back to talking Busse's, no more "High Noon" :o

No " new" knives are needed.
Knives would be good..

The Hogs are milling around getting restless, they need a Game Warden to keep them in line.

Matteo, are you related to my 7th grade math teacher, Mrs. Strain? :D

Man, we could NOT chew gum, utter a word, put our feet on the desk in front... Permission was required to blink.

She was one regimented old war bird.

(Skunk, I think you're being summoned to the principal's office.)

Huh? already drinkin' that's early! i know because im in europe and its to early to drink over here...luckily somewhere it's drinkin time :D

a term to describe a moment when somethin that was once great has reached a point where it will now decline in quality and popularity.

Origin of this phrase comes from a Happy Days episode where the Fonz jumped a shark on waterskis. Thus was labeled the lowest point of the show.

Cousin Oliver on Brady Bunch, Scrappy Doo.

 huh?

I'm not hip.....:o

Matteo: Frankly had not noticed a big difference. However, if my experience is any indication, there is a definite life cycle to an individual's interest in and participation in a forum. I have gone through this cycle on several forums, most notably the Continuous Wave Boston Whaler Forum and the AOL Weightlifting Forum.

1. Discover the forum. Read it eagerly. Learn the ropes.

2. Begin posting, usually rather extensively since the forum subject is one I have an active interest in.

3. Learn who the old-timers are, who has true words of wisdom and who are pretenders.

4. Maintain an active participation until suddenly I find myself in danger of getting repetitive and boring. Start to limit postings to those topics on which I believe I have something of value to contribute.

5. Realize that I am now one of the old-timers. Begin to deplore how the forum is declining, when in reality it is just changing somewhat because of the turnover of participants. Change is inevitable in any human endeavor.

6. Start to just tune in occasionally to see if anything new is going on.

7. Occasionally notice it on my favorites list and wonder, "why don't I go there anymore?"

Now I don't expect this to happen to me on the Busse forum, although I find myself reading more and posting less these days. The key to me in the above list is to realize the "change is inevitable" thing. It isn't necessarily better or worse, it has just changed somewhat from the old familiar.

At least we haven't turned into old grumps who tersely refer all newcomer questions to the search function, like folks on a lot of forums do.

I come here pretty much every day that I have internet access.

And it is pretty much like the lyrics of a song I heard a Loonng time ago.

I've seen fire, and I've seen rain, and Sunny/Happy days that I will not see again. ;)

At different times I have been Proud or ashamed at what I have seen here.

The Moderators do a Great job, Them I am always PROUD of.

I see no problems here, check out the Buck forum where every other post is crying about the quality:grumpy: of their knife. Rats and Hogs are happy and partying:thumbup: , with GREAT knives, nothing to beetch about. Jerry and Skunk keep me laughing, keep that killer steel comin:D .

Looks like you're the only one Matteo, now grab a beer like the Boss Hog said and get to drinkin'. :D

Very good observations Mike!

And when Laverne and Shirley moved to California... you knew it was the end. :thumbdn:

i come in everyday, i might not post as frequently, but i will always love checking in and have never had ill feelings towards the "vibe" here, i always love it. i have noticed that recently it seems that you have been making alot of negative comments about the busse world and this forum. seems odd that you're dogging busse knives and the forum here at the busse forum. no offense bro, but maybe it's time to move on?
