Time for a reality check......!

When did this forum become so annoying? I thought we were here to discuss knives.
I think it all started with the Krispy Kreme girls calendar.
That was REALLY annoying. I'm still having nightmares.

I definitely love you guys, and your irreverent sense of humor, but back in the day it was much more about the knives.

I've been around since early 2002, and the whole tone of the forum has changed. There are literally <5 steady posters still around since then.

I've said it before and took flack, and I'll say it again............Jerry, WTF??? Instead of offering actual useful combat knives, we have the option of a Karambit right now??

I personally think that it's time to get back to your roots, what made you special and successful.

Jerry, please don't jump the shark. Keep with the winning formula.

Yeah, I was watching a tv show and e-mailed for a knife about an hour after the "go" button, but I didn't get it.

Are you somehow suggesting that I'm bitter now? If anything I'm happy I didn't get it , because I didn't need it.

Believe me, I have enough INFI to cut everything that may need to be cut in my life.

Okay less than ten, but you get my point.

It's not like I said less than thirty..........

not trying to prove a piont at all bro, just got me to thinking just how many of us there are still tromping around regularly. We seem to have some that come and go, and some that show up every now and then. But the regular posters from that time period are rather rare. Then theres Cobalt, an enigma within a question. :p

Flatlander and Drew can be added to that list also. :D

Of course there are people that come and go, that's life. I don't hang out with the same people I did 5 or 10 years ago, I doubt many people do. That doesn't mean that I don't like them, just that times and people change.

In regards to this forum, I'm glad it isn't always discussing the knives, I've been around so long I've read all those threads ;)

:D:D

Matteo, I'm just jerking your chain a little. My real point, however, was that Jerry & Co. offer plenty of "traditional" combat/outdoor knives--if not through the web site right now, then through other offerings like Extravaganzaaaas and through the Company Store. In the past two 'Ganzaaaas, I've scored a Safari Skinner, a Battle Rat, a Mr. Mojo, and a HOGFSH. There have also been plenty of knives available through the Company Store, where I've bought at least seven in the past few months. Lots of opportunities have existed to acquire what you call "the winning formula."

I'm not really a Busse regular from way back, though I appreciated leatherman putting me on the list. I've just been hanging around here regularly for the past several months and posting a fair amount, I guess. I am, however, a BF regular from pretty far back, and I have to say that I like the irreverent disposition of this forum, as compared to some of the other forums.

Your point is well taken about the knife discussion, but I think part of the reason is the limited offerings by Busse. There can only be so many threads about the new line being offered. As for past lines, just about anything you want to know can be found with the search function or on BadMojo (believe me, I've looked.) And when you do want to know something, the HOGS are quick to answer.

Back in 2002 the Busse Combat Forum did not have the close-knit sense of community, brotherhood, family, fraternity, beer-drinking-buddies, poker night pals, etc. . . . that it has now. I like the Busse forum a whole lot more nowadays than I did back then. Now, I have drinking buddies and folks to hang out with from all over the world who like to talk about knives. Kinda like being back in college at the Beer Warrior House (WAR 1) only it doesn't smell so bad!!!! :barf: :barf: ;)

For many who lie in harms way, the War Boar is the most usefull design that we have offered to date. We have many, many orders from soldiers who are in the mix right now and have been filling their orders all along.

I appreciate the sentiment but you must remember that what made us "successful" is our unparalelled performance.

Over the past 10 years, there have been many "talkers" but NO "takers" amongst the ranks of our wannabe competitors. When it has come to proving or demonstrating the extreme performance of their blades they are no where to be found. Kinda makes it tough to keep talking about how you're the toughest guy on the planet when nobody will step into the ring with you.

As for being "special"? I think what made me "special" was my unique ability to drink and grind at the same time. . . :D It also made me bleed a lot!!!

I have no intention of jumping the shark. . . I saw Jaws when I was in high school and sharks scare me. . . I wouldn't mind shooting a few with a .50 cal. but that probably the extent of my desire to make contact with them. . . . Other than I do like them when they are sauteed in butter with a little lemon and pepper!!!:D

We have kept with the winning formula. . . and have been in the process of refining that formula.

I think you need to come to BLADE and drink a scotch with me and some of the other HOGs. . . I think it's time to induct Matteo EscoPork into the ranks!!!!!
