Wife is wanting a new pocket knife, She doesn't like bright colors on knives and guns. My stainless Endura is to long for her pockets. She has a Kershaw Blur, but it's a serrated tanto we got cheap at the knife show from Kershaw guy. I am not a big assisted opened guy, after using them for a while.

She needs something thin for in the pocket, she'll use it to cut cardboard and tape for her in home business and probably out it the garden some.

I am thinking Gray Delica 4 Wave Opener Plain Edge Knife would work nice. It's a little different and I think she'll like the wave.

I have a $75 budget, lets hear it

I'm a big Delica fan, and it's strictly appearance, but I'm not a fan of the wave. Besides that, how often will she actually be carrying it in her front pocket? That's where the wave would come into play.

Don't count out a Dragonfly2 I personally feel it fits better in the hand than a Delica. Don't get me wrong you can't go wrong with either, but I like Dragonflies

Sounds like you already made your choice and I think its a good one. :)

I might propose a different knife for the garden though, a Byrd Hawkbill SE. I have always found this blade style to be extremely effective with plants and rope and such. Plus it is inexpensive and might still fit your budget.

Any full flat ground Delica will do... colour is tricky but grey sounds like a solid choice. I would NOT get a waved one, that's me though.

How are the Kahr Delicas?

The Kahr is just a standard Delica with the the tip shortened to 2.5" to make it legal in restrictive areas.

Obviously, you're losing about .5" of cutting edge, but it should still be a good slicer.

I wouldn't recommend a waved blade for a woman, especially if it's to be carried in a purse.

My Kahr delica wasn't quite as good at slicing without a bit of work. I think there was something about the edge not being as thin to keep the wharncliffe style tip stronger. I would have to look up the thread to be sure, but after a run on the spyderedge it slices as well as anything and the tip is fine since I don't stab things. My wife actually likes my Dragonfly 2 with the H1 steel; she likes the easy-to-spot yellow handle, and I like that I don't have to worry about rust. Plus, it takes a razor edge, and that is important to me since she has cut herself numerous times with dull kitchen knives at other people's houses. Okay, it WAS my Dragonfly, I seem to have lost possession.

One of my girls loves the black combo edge. She say the combo edge makes it good for work. Black makes it cool. Her other EDC knife is a plain edge Lum Chinese, green. The combo edge delica is her "hard use" knife :)

Yes! I was going to suggest the purple. It is not a bad color for women or men. Several of us (me included) have purple Delicas. Very nice choice. My wife rocks the purple Dragonfly.

I EDC a stainless steel Handle Spyderco Delica with a VG-10 plain edge blade. l like stainless steel handles because l like my knives a little weighty. Maybe your wife might like a Full flat grind Black FRN version ?
