Time to start planning for Blade Show...

I'm planning on making it. I don't think I will be staying in a hotel being I live 30 minutes away, but I wouldn't mind meeting up with some of you guys for some after show festivities. :D

If any of you guys need any help with setting up or anything else, let me know and if I'm available I will be more than glad to help out.

I am trying to talk Marcelo in to going to Blade this year. It would be cool to finally meet some of you. Tickets are about $350.

Would we need a car down there, or everything centrally located from the Airport?

Also, what hotel would you suggest for a couple broke knife nuts?

The show is appr. 30 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport and is essentially a straight shot. There is a mall and plenty of restraurants within walking distance, as well as a couple of hotels. The only hotel that I have stayed at in the area was the Doubletree which is a mile north of the Galleria. I recall it being a little on the high side, close to $175 or so. If you had a car, you could easily find something further north and cheaper. Barrett Parkway (Kennesaw) would be my suggestion and is a straight shot on I-75 and there are plenty of hotels, restraurants, things to do if you were ok with being 10-15 minutes away.

I've stayed at the Extended Stay Windy Hill (right beside Pappadeaux) for three of the past four years, it's a pretty good deal, I am booked in at $54/night, that's for a king suite with kitchen. Downside is that it's about two miles north of Cobb Galleria so it's a bit of a walk, but if you've got a car it's no big deal.

Windy Hill is closer than my suggestion, just don't leave any valuables where they can be seen and everyone should be ok. Papasitos is right there as well and I recommend their Baja fish tacos. :D

I only live about 15 minutes away, but every year I've had to sober up so i could drive home. NOT THIS YEAR! Got a room booked at the Ren-Wizzy and I'mma be partying WAY too hard. :D It's worth the price of the room to me to not have to drive ANYWHERE. If you see someone passed out on the floor of the elevator, that's me. Andy is the one passed out in the hallway. Killstew is the one passed out in the parking lot with a camera. Joe Flowers is passed out up a tree in front of the hotel "sleep bushcrafting". HAHAHAHA!

Wise choice. As you and others in the area know, Cobb County PD does not play.

Whitty's friend is the one w/ his pants around his ankles in the valet parking area. lol

After going last year I will definitely be going back in June. I live approx. 5-6 hours from the venue but it's worth the planning.

Haha. Sounds like you guys know how to party. Is it worth it to stay at the hotel across the street, or would I do better to save that money and spend it on knives at the show.:D

This thread kind of disappeared. Any updates on somewhere for us to all eat. Any thoughts on doing a tail gate or something of that sort. My wife is expecting at the end of May but she has given me the green light to go as long as everything is going OK.

Hope to see you all there.

Whitty

Wife has also given me the go ahead to go this year, don't have a rat pack number yet, but would still love to hang with some like minded people.

It's worth it for me. Usually by that time, I have enough trouble walking, let alone driving.

I think we need to do the tailgate potluck kind of thing.

RP#'s are like condoms. You don't need an RP# to have a good time. You just have to be prepared to deal with the consequences.
