No reason other than I've been too scared to try one. Here it is so far. Rough grind done.

Now to try to not screw it up.

Looks like a great effort. Just nudge the center line over a bit so that it meets the tip right at the point. Super job!

Ok. Here it is post heat treat and final grind. I've decided that grinding daggers is like juggling. You have to watch multiple things with every pass. Very nerve wracking. If someone asked me to make another one I might punch them in the eye. Lol

That being said, I have to confess the blade is this wide because I knew I would need that much blade on the platen to feel my grind in. Now I need to try one in a narrow blade with a hollow grind. When I'm feeling masochistic.

Very nice work.

In the future, I would advise against putting a hole so close to the butt. It only takes a small amount of grinding to accidentally cut into that hole.

Stacy, I agree, I don't like where that hole ended up. My plan was to have it exposed. Have the scales curved to keep the point exposed. I may mock up the handles and if I dont like it I will grind it off and concave the end.

Very nice. You were obviously ready for the challenge. What other challenges are you ready for?

I am a fan of everything, but the butt just looks off. Great grind lines.

The butt had to be changed as I didn't like the glass breaker end I had on it. Personally I like the down swept butt to contrast the up swept guard. I appreciate the input tho. :)

Thought I would post a finished pic. Sharpened and with a boot sheath. I did the sheath in antique brown and it didn't look right. So black it is.

Ok the last picture shows the brass color, on my side of the monitor the picture before that looks silver in color ;0)

I'll withhold judgement on the size of your can lol
