Time to Whine - Let's hear it!!!!

After reading Mr. Todd's post, I almost don't feel like I ought to be so jovially flippant.... but, my big whine will be if Dan forgets to make my Elite Bushmaster with brass bolts. ;) (please Dan -- don't make me into a whiner!).

Also, root canal's & such are a "real" pain (pun intended).

Sorry to James about his business. That is truly a sad story of the times.

My whine is trivial by comparison. I flew international flights and the transfer took place through Miami. Miami airport - worst damn place on earth to be in. Think of pig corrals to the slaughter house and there you have the customs/baggage claim section.

So after a 5 hour flight on American Airlines (such a crappy airline does not deserve their namesake) and eating nothing, because they will sell you peanuts for $3 US - but wait, they don't take U.S. cash only credit card. You get dumped into Homeland Security passport control. I don't mind the questioning interview - they are doing their job. Forty five minutes in line to get through that though is really crazy by international standards. Then you get through the slaughter house corrals of the customs baggage check. Thirty minutes of that, but wait - there is the kicker. Oops - they dump you out to general, so now you have to go through security...Yes that will be 25 minutes through the regular security checkpoint. Yes - 1h and 40 minutes to simply get to my connecting flight.

Sorry boys - I love the United States (even though I'm a Canuck). I love the US enough that I married a U.S. gal and adopted U.S. children. But you guys really screwed up international travel!!!!

Lost my business of 23 years, son is without a job as a result. No money to go to dentist.

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.
Actually, I am doing OK. After working for 49 years, it was time to hang it up. I am finally able to be with the love of my life, my wife. Who has put up with me going on 45 years. If the Lord had not allowed this economy to crash as it did, I probably would still be working. I am blessed indeed and should not be whining.

2 herniated discs/facing surgery/working full time in extreme pain/employer of 17 years is broke and it's a grim outlook.
But, as bad as it looks and as bad as it may get, Christ will provide for me.

Sparky......what the hell happened to your hand??! Looks very painful.

I tried to stab a can off a counter and got the blade caught on the counter stopping the blade but not my hand, thus my hand slid up a very sharp blade. The blade cut right through tendon, artery and nerve and I needed surgery. Ive almost got full mobility back in my right pointer finger and never lost any in my right middle finger. Surgeon told me to get a can crusher next time lol.:p:p:p

That reminds me of the rime I tried to catch (instinctively) a falling fillet knife blade after is slipped from my hand while I was polishing it. Let's just say that my hand grasped it as the tang hit my knee...and the momentum of my hand did the rest. Not fun.

dan,
im sure i could slice this thinner...it would be like a tomato puree

Well Mr. Todd, I have some relation to you then, my father just lost his local business of marine contractor/ construction owner. It has been a family business since his father moved down here to Fl in the mid 50's and he just had it taken from him by his competitor due to his pockets being a little deeper in these harsh times. I used to work for him for a little bit just as a summer job but I see first hand how much of an impact losing a business can have. I feel for you and hope the best.
