Your question is far to ambiguous. Simple designs, you can put together in a few hours. A maker can have literally hundreds of hours in a complex design.
Ask Bruce Bump how many hours he has in one of his pistol knife combo pieces.

Somewhere between four and twenty for most of my stuff. Depends entirely on the complexity of the design, and what level of finish. That's not counting two hours in the temper cycles, glue drying overnight, etc.
