...you didn't have one.

...Biking last evening I completely spaced putting a knife in my pocket (this rarely happens) Well of course my shoelace got tangled in a sproket and it took a solid five minutes (In 10 degree weather) to untangle everything. Sure was wishing I had a knife....

Tools have to be checked in and out on a lot of sites for work, knives and phones are not aloud...always think of how stupid I must look when I keep reaching in my pocket out of force of habit to return with nothing in hand.

This little Imperial slipjont is always around my neck on a bead chain with the Victorinox screwdriver tool, so no matter what I'd always have at least something I could cut stuff with if I ever somehow forget to bring a knife with me.

Or AIN'T allowed , but feel the need : IRS audit , hospital , courthouse , jail , parent-teacher conference etc.

Happened to me today also!
Installing a 75 gal water heater......HUGE & THICK cardboard box. Reach for a knife......SH!T!!!
Had to use a box cutter that wasn’t long enough to get through it.
That was fun.
UGH

I did that last year with a box. No knives, not even box cutters in the building at an install site. Had to baton a pair of scissors through the damn thing. MUCH safer than just letting a technician carry a knife. Morons.

I bought one of those little aftermarket OTF's for my keychain. Always have a knife on me but this thing has gotten me out if a jam or two.

I have an identical one as your little slipjoint. Should that OTF ever conk out, I got that one ;-)

That's awesome.
Mine was an extremely generous gift from GT on the porch, a few months back and has been with me ever since. It took a bit to get an edge on it as it was completely lacking, but it's now sharp enough to get the job done.

Years ago when I first started working as an animal rescuer, I had to free a pigeon hanging upside down from a tree on a fishing line. Didn't have a knife. Luckily, I found a pair of scissors in my van. Since then, as I don't drive the same van every day, I have always carried a knife on me. I carry more than a knife nowadays. :D

Every time I go somewhere on an airplane. I travel light, just carry on. The first stop of the plane is to buy the cheapest possible knife at a gas station. you'd be surprised how often I strike out.

Yeah, I usually check a knife in my checked luggage until I reach my destination..usually a Kershaw Shuffle. Most places I travel to this thing is legal.

Would have LOVED a vid of that debacle Bryce!!
:D
I shouldn’t talk though!! I used my sawsall to Open that beast today.........verrrrrrrry carefully!! That could’ve been a blackmail vid!!!

I have a knife on me all the time.... well, almost all the time...

End of the work day, I shrug off the coveralls and throw the contents of the pockets onto the desk.

Pump company calls back... guy sez "can you get me the frame number on the motor, or some other documentation?"

Well of course I can. I dash out to the pump room, and find the docs are zip tied to the motor. No problem, I'll just...

Knife is in the office on the desk, with the rest of the contents I compiled a few minutes ago.

My fault. I won't let it happen again.;)
