Timex Expedition

The last Timex I bought was a dud (this was a couple years ago). The only thing that worked after a week or two was the time portion. I stay away from Timex now even though some of watches pictured here are appealing. I generally wear Casio branded watches and use the $100 mark as my reference point. Haven't had a dud yet and I have been wearing them for a long time (like 30-40 years). I like their bands generally but replacing can be a pain in the butt.

Rugged Expeditions were a little larger with 100M WR, a recessed crystal and a little better shock resistance. They cost a little more too, but not much more. Out of production when I posted these photos two years ago, but one dealer is still selling them as new old stock for the old list price ($56.99). No one collects them. Case width 40mm (44mm with crown), lug width 20mm, lug-to-lug 44mm. The case is plated brass, by the way.

I have an expediton scout that while they don't tick anymore it's kept oscillating past mulitple battery changes for the Seiko/Lumniox/Tag Heur watches that I usually wear. I keep it as my "goin' to work with a pick and shovel watch so if I ding it with a rock etc. there will be no regrets.

Have you seen the new MK1. Aluminum body. A few colour options. Light as a feather. A nice looking field watch. I didn’t like the domed lense however as it is acrylic and could scratch very easily.
