I too have always looked at Tinives as strictly collector material, at least until I realized that they have lower price points than the original $1200 model. Certainly, nothing about Tinives' advertising gave me any hint that I should be looking at their knives as user knives.
As using knives, I tend to compare them to Speed-Tech, whose price point is similar. I've never physically compared the knives from the two companies, but having handled both knives at separate times, I have a vague notion that the Speed Techs seemed more ergonomic and solidly built, while the Tinives had a bit more elegance.
Glad to know you're working with Tinives Larry. Keep us informed how things go. Of course, I think moving to a liner lock is a tremendous step backwards, but other than that I'd love to see how things evolve.
