I just got this little gem mixed with some junk:

IMG_0223.jpg

It's about 2 7/8" with the wrench closed. The blade is marked "Stainless Steel" on one side and "Patent 48191" on the other. Stainless Steel must manufacture knives and tools for a lot of companies since I've seen their name on a lot of products (yes, it was a bad joke!). US patent 48191 belongs to Edwin Lookwood for his "Improved Car-Seat" so it must be a foreign patent. Anyone have more info on it?

No further information from me. I wonder though if the screw adjuster for the wrench would have been better at the other end (or in the middle). What is the maximum size of nut/bolt that it can handle?

That is really cool. I wish I had more information about it to share with you but alas I do not.

nice i saw something similar at a flea market but i was young and didnt get it....:(

The wrench opens up to 29/32". But its actual capacity for hex nuts and bolts is somewhat limited because the opening is shallow (3/8"). Here are a few more quick photos:

I included a SpydeRench and old Lunawerk wrench for comparison.

Mine must be the European model, as it is stamped INOX on the blade instead of Stainless Steel. ;)

These little wrench tools must have been promotional items as well. This one and at least one other that I know of were stamped with the Schlumberger logo. (Schlumberger is a worldwide oil services company, so I'm sure they are not the makers of the tool)

Trust Bob to have at least one multi-tool that was ever invented. :D

Wish I had some info on those to share with. Man those are really cool collector's bits.

The patent number (48191) is also a Michigan zip code...hmmm...I wonder if the information that I'm gathering on the tiny wrench multi-tool will lead to Bob's basement. ;)
