Tiodhlac (Sword DONE, Poem NOT)

Scott That is just way to cool I love the Pome and the sword it has such a warmth

I love how this one came out Scott. Wrought Iron, and copper are some of my favorite materials, and you use them both very artfully.
Oh yeah, and that damascus is rocking!!

this was a great thread. Perfect time to click too, because I did . not have to wait for the finished picture either!

Thanks again folks! I'm glad you like my Pome Dave!

Can't wait to get on to the next one. If I don't start one soon.. the next planned commission is a Scottish backsword. But I'd like to squeeze in a hunting sword if I can...

VERY cool project!

Thanks for showing it.

The poem is cool too, but admittedly...I don't know how to pronounce many of the words:eek:

Peter

That is one of the finer WIPs I've seen; great work . Is there a sheath in the works also?

Thanks again folks!

There is a scabbard in the works. It will be a simple and all wood with copper and leather retainer.. wood will be 'flame' birch... more of the old growth Lake Superior stuff. I will show a picture when it's done.

I agree with everyone else. Super Sword!!! But...what about the new kiln? Gotta see that too! Seriously , it wasn't that long ago you posted your first sword. You have made leaps and bounds towards becoming a master swordsmith.

Thanks guys! David.... I will try to take a picture of my control box. The kiln itself looks like a big wooly sheep right now since I wrapped the entire thing in kaowool! But it will be running perfectly once I get a set of elements designed specifically for my parameters. The ones I have now have too much going through them and will eventually burn out. I'm also getting more heat towards the back and I will need to figure that out.

That's great. All wood scabbards or at least wood lined are fine for long term storage without the fear of rust setting in like a leather scabbard. Can't wait to see it, hope you'll post pics.
