I mounted a brass and a steel wire wheels to a bench grinder. I made a couple pieces with nickel silver that needed to be cleaned. I ran them across the wheels and got a nice texture. Steel wheels give a rougher finish than the brass. The steel one even cleaned up a few file marks without removing much material.
