Tip-up carry issues, involving blood . . .

The classic model sebenzas also have a weaker detent compared to the 21's. On the 21 the detent hole goes through the blade while on the classic its more like a dimple.

Interesting. I've actually been considering selling my Classic and buying a newer model. The "Classic" in big letters has always bugged me. The knife is a well-known classic design; splashing it across the scales comes off as a bit self-conscious to me. But then I'm not sure I'd like the "Idaho made" much better . . .

Not sure what you mean by "self-conscious", but they put it on there when they brought the original frame style back into production.

I love the Classic MM stamp, but we are all different.

They made the 21's without the Idaho stamp, so you may want to consider putting up a WTT in the trade section.
Or just sell it, and find an unmarked 21. Good luck.

I noticed many "Classic MMs" whose blades barely fit in the handle. There was actually quite a bit of buzz about it here ~2001. Running a finger along the handle/back spine of the closed knife one could certainly get an itty bitty slice. I reckon that's what happened to the wallet?

As far as an accidental opening knife goes, it seems to be inherent of tip up knives worn anywhere but against a pocket seam. ...one of the reasons I'm more of a tip down guy myself. Gravity is your friend! Unfortunately tip up knives require a certain carry to be more or less accident proof. I think about it all the time with my Sebs as they are my favs for IWB carry since they are so slim, light and comfy against the skin. The only Sebs Ive personally had open accidentally are double thumb lug. The weak side lug can snag on a seam and open upon knife from pocket removal.

Archieblue, my blade fits well, no problem running my finger along the back of the spine. This was definitely a tip issue. I wish there were a tip-down option for the Sebenza, as the outside left hip pocket is really the only comfortable place for me to carry a large (left-hand) Sebenza.

Ken - absolutely a personal opinion. I see so many products calling themselves "classic" or "limited" when they're clearly not; I don't think the products that really are classics need to shout about it.

I also keep my sebenza in my left front pocket, and have cut myself a few times as it's gotten knocked open slightly by my keys or something. Now I don't put anything in that pocket but my knife and it hasn't happened in a while.

You keep a tip up right handed knife in your left front pocket ? Are you left handed ?

I was a Butcher, and Game processing owner, so cutting myself doesn't bother me. But when I read about others doing it I almost cringe for some reason:confused:
